A person seeking coaching services desires to achieve something more in their personal or professional life, and they need help to accomplish that.
Who is a Certified Professional Life Coach?
A Certified Professional Life Coach is an individual who has been trained and credentialed to work with clients looking to move from where they presently are in their personal or professional lives to where they desire to be. Credentialed life coaches are professionals that implement a future-focused approach in their interactions with coaching clients. Life coaches typically help people (clients) with issues like setting clear and specific goals, staying accountable to desired objectives, building confidence, helping clients to discover their life purpose, and much more.

Becoming a Credential Life Coach
Although becoming certified as a professional life coach is not mandatory by any state or federal regulation to work as a life coach, it is strongly recommended. Suppose you want to be taken seriously as a professional life coach and experience much success in the profession; it is a great idea to get certified. Also, being credentialed as a life coach impacts how much you can make. Many corporate clients (i.e., organizations) and individual clients today prefer coaches who are credentialed.
Reputable credentialing bodies such as the International Coach Federation (ICF) offer certifications through their numerous accredited training programs. The ICF approved training providers can be found using its Training Program Search Service (TPSS).
About The Certified Professional Life Coach Salary
What does a certified professional life coach salary look like? It all depends on several factors, including years of experience, location, niche, skills and expertise, supplemental income, certification, and training. And now, we have the COVID-19 pandemic to deal with. According to Payscale.com, the average salary of a credentialed life coach is $48K. as of 2020. The lowest $ $27K and the highest $101K. According to a recent global study by ICF, 49% of coaches said they had experienced reduced income, and 37% had faced reduced hours due to the pandemic.
In all reality, and still considering the factors mentioned in the previous paragraph that will most likely influence the certified professional life coach salary, the coach who is just starting out in his or her career (entry-level)will start out with a relatively low salary. With less than one year of experience, you can expect to earn $25,000 to $40,000 per year. The pay will increase to the $50,000 to $60,000 range after a few years. The highest earning potential comes after eight to ten years of experience, with a maximum of $80,000. A small percentage of certified professional life coaches have taken a more business approach and are earning well over $100,000 based on their connections and multiple streams of income.
