What to Know About Coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) broadly defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The wonderful thing about coaching is the opportunity for the individual to find the answers to their problems or issues within themselves. People who have utilized coaching services are usually amazed to find that the answers lie within themselves; they are in the driver’s seat of their lives and no one else. All coaches do is to come alongside to help individuals unlock their potential that will help achieve their desired goals. Coaches are there also to observe, listen and ask powerful open-ended questions to help understand their clients’ issues.

The Benefits of Offering Complimentary Coaching Sessions
Some might wonder how beneficial it is to offer free coaching sessions as a new coach to clients. As a new life coach starting out, I would state that it was highly beneficial for me, and there were no regrets down the road. In my first three months as a life coach, my services were offered to former coworkers, fellow church members, and others in the community at no cost. I met with individuals or groups a couple of sessions a month, and in return, a few of them referred paying coaching clients to me. As a result, I was able to show my expertise and give prospective clients a taste of what to expect as we progressed. Offering complimentary coaching sessions also enables coaches to see if they and their prospective clients are a good match before a coaching agreement is signed. In free coaching sessions, you will also be able to explore what the potential clients want to accomplish from coaching, explaining how your coaching services work and how you can help them, and any questions or concerns they might have.
