2. Volume: Notice whether your client is speaking in a loud or quite voice. If your client is speaking in loud voice and you speak quietly, he may perceive you as meek or nervous. Match his volume and you will surely find much more in common with your added enthusiasm.
3. Speed: A thoughtful, slow speaking person can be very uncomfortable when speaking with a fast talker. Matching someone’s rate of speech is similar to walking with them at the same pace.
4. Pitch: Voice pitch is a way to change someone’s energy level. The higher the pitch and volume, the more excited people are likely to feel. A lower pitch will often portray a greater sense of stability or confidence.
5. Rhythm: Rhythm can vary from a melodic, sing-song voice to a pragmatic, matter-of-fact voice.

Using these tools may sound like a great way to increase your life coaching income, and they are. Before you use them, however, make sure your motive is pure. These techniques will greatly improve your level of rapport when you use them properly, or annoy people if used without discretion.
