The Professional Life Coach Yearly Salary of a Salaried Federal Employee

August 19, 2020 by Margaret K. Olubiyi Leave a Comment

Have you ever wondered what the life coach yearly salary of a federal employee in the United States is? This article will provide those of you who are interested in working for any US government agency with some insight on what the annual pay is like.

Who is a Professional Life Coach?

A professional life coach is someone that offers support through an ongoing partnership created to help clients maximize their potential in their personal and professional lives. Coaches typically have formal training but are not required to have any specific coaching credentials or certifications. Professional Life Coaches generally are expected to be knowledgeable in a variety of areas, and you may find them working in both the private and public sectors.

Such places include schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, day shelters, group homes, and government agencies. Several life coaches are self-employed as well, and they contract with both individuals and businesses to provide coaching services.

Working For The Federal Government as a Life Coach

Working for the US government has its benefits. You might not make as much as your counterparts in the private sector, but the compensation package (e.g., Pension, TSP, more paid holidays and vacations, etc.) in addition to health insurance benefits of a federal employee is quite impressive. Besides, the peace of mind of having a stable job until retirement (job security) is an added benefit.  Most self-employed life coaches do not have benefits, medical or dental insurance, or retirement funds unless financed personally. And so if you are a life coach looking to work for the federal government, you might find it financially rewarding.

You can choose to get a job as a salaried government employee or a federal contractor. Either way, the pay and benefits are pretty good. If you decide to work as an employee, you are considered an internal federal coach, and as a 1099 contractor, you are called an external coach. Regardless of your job classification, you are working for the United States government as a professional life coach.

Life Coach Yearly Salary Package: How Much Can I Make?

The life coach yearly salary ultimately depends on several factors to include geographical location, experience, and level of training. As of June 14, 2020, the average annual pay for a Life Coach in the United States is $59,630 a year.

According to ZipRecruiter, a popular employment marketplace site, the yearly life coaches’ pay are currently as high as $148,500 and as low as $11,000, and the majority of these salaries typically range between $27,000 to $70,500 across the United States.

To work for a federal employee, it is essential to know that additional requirements may be requested for the position. For example, depending on your grade level, you might be required to have an undergraduate or Master’s degree as well as a Coaching credential. A full-time life coach salary as a US government employee can go anywhere from $25,363 to $113,000 annually, with the average being $52,111. These figures are, of course, dependent upon factors like experience, training/certification, education, and life coaching niche.

Helping others is the primary objective of every professional life coach, but it is moreover a huge plus when the life coach’s annual salary and overall compensation brings financial stability and long term rewards.
