No. You do not need a job coach certification to run a private coaching practice. The client will decide if they want a job coach certification included in their coach’s resume. If you are really passionate about helping people find the job or career or position that is best for them, then I would recommend a job coach certification. I did my Senior Thesis at Princeton on a computer program called SIGI that helped people choose careers because I was planning on the time on becoming a career counselor. The reason I wanted to become a career counselor was because I know that the job and career that you choose in life is one decision that will have a major impact on every other aspect of your life! You spend more time at work than anywhere else during your normal waking hours if you work 40 to 5o hours a week.
