When it comes to getting a prestigious coaching certificate that really is the question – are you looking for content or cache? After 35 years working in Silicon Valley Hi-Tech, I have met more than a couple of guys with BSEE’s from MIT and Harvard MBA’s who couldn’t figure out a bus schedule. And you can’t get a more prestigious education than that. So clearly it is a combination of what you bring to the table, how hard you are willing to work, and the quality of the coaching school or organization that you become affiliated with.
What Do You Bring to the Table?
Being a great coach is a calling. And a calling implies two things – first that you have the heart for it, and second that you have what it takes to be successful in your calling. This will be a combination of empathy, intelligence, insight and dedication. The point is that the guy who does the calling will not set you up for failure, and that means that from your side it comes down to how honest you will be with yourself and how hard you are willing to work.
How Hard Are You Willing to Work?
So if you are actually called, you have what it takes with or without a prestigious coaching certificate. Are you honest with yourself to acknowledge what you know and how much more you have to learn? Are you willing to work hard and do whatever it takes? How much is always enough to begin, and never enough to be done, because there is always more that you can master and that you can share.
Why Is this a Prestigious Coaching Certificate?
Prestige is never about now. It is always about the past and the future. What great things have the graduates of this program done, and what great things will its graduates do in the future? So if you are looking at a prestigious coaching certificate program, look to the accomplishments of the graduates in the past, and what you can do in the future as a result of the program’s training and mentorship. And never take cache seriously.
