How important is selecting a name for your life coaching business?  While you don’t want to pay thousands of dollars for business branding, you need to put in at least some thought to a name.  Take a bank in a small town outside San Diego for example.  It’s called “RaboBank.”  Would you feel that your money is safe with a name that sounds a little too much like, “Rob-a-Bank?”  You don’t want your coaching clients to have that same hesitation when they see the name of your business.

Creating a Life Coaching Business Name That Works

It’s important that the name of your life coaching business works for you.  That is, it attracts clients rather than repels them.  One of the key elements in a great name is that it implies the result your clients are looking for.  Many people use their own name, which is not ideal.  Why?  Your potential clients are not likely to be searching the net for you.  In fact they care very little about you.  What they are passionate about is finding a solution to their problem.

You Can Actually Help Your Clients Find You

When you are considering names for your life coaching business, test them against Google keywords.  Get a Google Adword account, and see when people are searching for.   There will be too much competition for the top ranking keywords.  Look at some of the slightly less popular keywords and select one that is a good match for the result you provide for your clients.

What would it be like to have a blog title that included keyword phrases that your ideal clients are searching for?  It’s no guarantee of success, but at least it is a good start to your marketing plan and a way to stack the deck in your favor.
