Life coach marketing has to continue whether or not you are feeling inspired, if you want your business to succeed. Do you write and publish a blog as part of your online marketing plan? If you do, you probably know that posting every day is most effective in building your tribe and your presence in the search engines. It’s certainly easiest to write articles when you are feeling inspired, but if you are writing 5-7 blogs a week it can be a challenge to find that inspiration. So what can you do to get your creative juices flowing when you feel stuck?
Life Coach Marketing Is Based On Life
When you can’t come up with anything to write about, take some time away from your computer. It doesn’t have to be a long time, 15 or 20 minutes might be enough. But give yourself a change of scenery–take a walk, sit on your porch and escape with a fantasy novel, play with your children or your dog, call a friend. Take off your writer hat and put on your observer hat or coach hat. Then treat what you see and hear as a sort of lateral thinking puzzle. You know, the kind of word puzzle where you are presented with a scenario and you have to explain it by thinking out of the box. Ordinary events can become fodder for your life coach marketing when you look at them in new ways.
Let Other Blogs Inspire You
Another great source of inspiration for your life coach marketing blog is other blogs, newsletter articles or ezines. Obviously you would never just copy some other life coach’s marketing materials word for word. You can use them for ideas, though. Look at as many other relevant articles as you have time for. You will find topics that inspire you, stories that give you ideas for things you think are important to write about, reminders of stories of your own clients’ challenges and successes that you might want to talk about. Writing on an idea from another blog also has the advantage of backlinks when you quote someone else’s material, improving your SEO and getting more people to see your materials.
Keep An Idea File
When you see a film or a play, keep on the look out for dialogue or lessons that strike you as possible blog inspirations. If you listen to talk radio or country music, listen with your life coach’s ear. When something catches your attention, even if you aren’t sure how it will fit in with your life coach marketing blog, jot it down or dictate it into a digital recorder you carry with you. Keep your ideas all together in one place and if you are stumped for a blog topic, have a look at what you’ve saved. Often, one of those snippets will be just the kernel you need for a blog subject.
