Another way to get to know your clients is via an online survey using SurveyMonkey.com, and it won’t hurt your life coaching income because it’s free.  The key to getting people to respond is to make sure you give them some type of value first, so they know that the information they give to you will be helpful to them later.  They’ll be happy to help you, help themselves.

Know Your Target Life Coaching Business Market – Not Sure Who to Target?  Give Out Free Sessions

If you want to learn about someone in depth, coach them.  If you have existing clients in you niche market, it’s easy.  But what if you don’t have any of these clients yet?  And although it might not immediately impact your life coaching income, you give a group of people from your target market a few free coaching sessions.  Remember, the key to effective marketing is to give away your best stuff.  Personally, I would rather coach a few extra people and talk to them about what matters most than put a lot of effort into an online campaign without really knowing what my target market wants.

A more targeted way to get in front of your niche market is to form a focus group or training that is specifically designed for them.  Of course you need to make sure to answer the question, “What’s in it for me to show up?”  If your focus group is targeting people who want to loose weight, for example, offer them a free session for showing up or a discount on the product you are developing.  And if these free sessions go well, you can start seeing an increase in your life coaching income before you even launch your product or service.

The key to a healthy life coaching income is knowing who your target market is, and being able to deliver what they need.  If you can do that, you’ll have all the life coaching business you could want.
