Can being in a state of poverty really help your life coaching business?  Although it seems counter-intuitive, we all know pain is very motivating.  In fact, one of my good friends says that where you have struggled most in your own life becomes your area of genius.  Why not look at poverty as a great opportunity?

When you have hit bottom, you either stay put or move forward.  We’re seen examples of this on the streets where people camp out with their signs in resignation.  We’ve also seen examples of authors and motivational speakers who tell their own rags to riches story.  My own dad had such a story.  At one point in his life he had only 5 cents.  Having not eaten that day he bought a candy bar.  That was his bottom.  I am thankful that I grew up with a lot more financial certainty.  After hearing that story, however, I really paid attention to my dad’s advice on business and finances.

Where Is Your Area Of Poverty

We all have at least one area of poverty in our own lives.  Where is yours?  It doesn’t have to be finances.  It can be health, relationships, or just a plain old lack of motivation.  Wherever you are struggling most, take on the challenge to rise out of your current circumstances.  When you do, you will have expertise of offer others and your life coaching business will thrive.  The best credibility doesn’t come from a degree or certification.  It comes from people seeing that you had victory over the same problem that they have.  When that happens they see you not only as a source of inspiration and proof that it can be done, but also as the resource to make their own life better.
