Wayne Dyer Death – Just the Next Adventure

September 2, 2015 by Jeffrey T. Sooey 2 Comments

Multiple media sources and articles have reported on the Wayne Dyer death story. Dyer, self-help guru, a pioneer, a writer, a motivational speaker, and a frequent guest on the Oprah Winfrey show has died at the age of 75. But, after pondering his passing for a day, I think he may have just gone away to find his next adventure. The Wayne Dyer death story should really be titled, Wayne Dyer’s Next Adventure.

Wayne Dyer

Wayne Dyer – One of the Most Influential People in the World

In 2014, Mind Body Spirit Magazine named Dyer as the 8th most spiritually influential person in the world – people ahead of him included the Dalai Lama, Pope Francis, Deepak Chopra, and Oprah Winfrey. He was called the “father of motivation” by his army of fans, and became a true legend in the self-empowerment field.

The central theme to his philosophy was that you can attract whatever you want in life – wealth, love, health, happiness. He often told his audiences that he was the message – he truly lived his positive thinking philosophy. He would definitely not want his final story to be titled, The Wayne Dyer Death Story. His death is not an end, but merely a beginning to a great new adventure.

Your Erroneous Zones

It all started with his very first book in 1976, Your Erroneous Zones, which is believed to be one of the best-selling books of all time, with an astonishing 35 million copies sold around the globe. He became a media sensation, and appeared on almost any talk show you could name. He was the author of over 40 books, 20 of which were New York Times bestsellers. He appeared on thousands of radio and televisions show, and had 10 PBS specials, which raised over $250 million for public broadcasting.

He was born in Detroit and after being abandoned by an abusive, alcoholic father, he spent portions of his childhood in foster homes and orphanages. After a stint in the US Navy, he earned a doctorate in educational counseling from Wayne State University, and became a professor at St John’s University in New York. It was at St John’s where he first started to attract attention, as his lectures brought in students beyond those actually enrolled in his classes. A literary agency persuaded him to put his ideas in a book, and the result was Your Erroneous Zones.

Wayne Dyer Death

In 2009, he was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. His treatment included positive thinking, daily exercise, and the more controversial “psychic surgery” performed by Brazilian Joao Teixeira de Faria. The actual cause of Wayne Dyer’s death was not immediately revealed.

On his Facebook page, Dyer’s family wrote, “He always said he couldn’t wait for his next adventure to begin and he had no fear of dying.”

Dyer was quoted often, but two of his quotes stand out as something to consider in our hectic, confrontational world:

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

“When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.”

Perhaps we can all do him a favor and apply these quotes in the way we treat ourselves and others. If something positive comes out of his passing, then the Wayne Dyer death story will make sense

Well, after 75 years of mortality, Wayne Dyer has not really died, he has just moved on to his next adventure. Wayne Dyer death – don’t believe a word of it!

We do not know where that adventure has led him, but we do know that here on Earth, through his books, television appearances, and motivational lectures, and through his self-empowerment and improvement philosophy, he has become immortal.
