Do you know of any training program or organization that provides credentialing for a Board Certified Life Coach? If you conduct your research, you most likely will not locate this particular designation given by any training provider. However, the closest you will find is the Board Certified Coach credential offered by The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE).
About CCE
The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) is a not-for-profit organization that provides practitioners and organizations with assessments, business support services, and credentialing. They are considered the gold standard for career facilitation. The organization was established in 1995 as an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), and its mission is to advance professional excellence through credentialing, assessment and business services. CCE credentials nearly 25,000 practitioners globally in a variety of fields.
There are a few credentialing bodies that offer third-party oversight to the field like the CCE and the International Coach Federation (ICF). These non-profit organizations attempt to set standards and provide support to the life coaching field, which is currently unregulated.
The Board Certified Coach (BCC)
The Board Certified Coach credential is NOT a life coaching certification but rather a professional endorsement for individual life coaches. The CCE refers to their credential as a mark of distinction for credential holders; as well as a source of credibility for their clients. A Board Certified Coach has met professional coaching competency standards established by CCE and subject matter experts.

The Board Certified Coach vs The Board Certified Life Coach
Is being a board certified coach the same as the board certified life coach? I believe several individuals in the coaching industry has equated both to convey the same thing. However, the most important thing to comprehend is, the CCE does credential life coaches who meet their program requirements. The board certified coach credential can be conferred upon individuals in any professional field as long as they meet the CCEs’ requirements.
