    Mano,

Glad you enjoyed the video. The internet has come a long way and there is now a team of people that are committed to help regular people get great results on the internet, so doing business there doesn’t have to be a technical nightmare. Now is the time where there are still lots of openings for business and leadership to step in and take an early advantage in the game (before everything stabilizes). Stay tuned for more!

    Here are my thoughts:

    1. Great video and thank you for always providing tremendous, in depth and well organized value.

    2. Is this video new or was it really created in March of ’10 like it says at the top? I guess I’m always interested to know what is the most current and freshest info since things are moving at a lightning pace these days

    3. One issue that comes up when watching this stuff- especially if you do consider yourself an internet dummy (which I don’t completely), is “Wow, thats intense and overwhelming, where would I start, how would I find the time to do all those things and more importantly than any of that – How in the world can I do all this stuff without going absolutely nuts and spontaneously combusting?”

    4. Which leads me to my fourth thought – isn’t the first step in all this complicated (or seemingly so) stuff -helping people create a very manageable system to do all this stuff in a logical and stream-lined manner so they can systematically do all these things and also know when a days worth of work is considered complete? I realize thats not the point of this video but I can’t be alone in feeling like only a 12 brained octopus could do all this stuff while not going loopy or falling off the deep end.

I am more than grateful for this info but also wanted to give you some feedback about my biggest challenge at present which is: locking in a manageable system for doing everything you cover in your videos and feeling like IT ALL CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY ME AND MY BRAIN (yes I’m aware of delegation and automation)

    Thanks

Not sure when I created this video. The dates on this blog just help me manage the order of the posts, so the dates aren’t the most accurate. As far as ‘freshness’… I still use the same exact tactics and my coaching business hasn’t stopped growing yet. If I find something that works markedly better, I’ll be sharing it.

You make a very good point. Let’s take them each one at a time:

    1) INTENSE AND OVERWHELMING: Yes! It should get your heart rate up. That’s a good thing.

    2) WHERE WOULD I START: It doesn’t matter, because you’ll screw up no matter where you start. DECIDE where and BEGIN.

    3) HOW TO FIND THE TIME??: This part is hard. When I first started, I had an accountability coach kick my ass every week to make sure I spent 10 hours per week working on this stuff. It didn’t happen the first or second week, but by the 4th week, I was making major progress. You MUST get a time management system that allows you to shift gears and work on the most important things ASAP. If you can’t take control of your time, you’re pretty much screwed. Anyway… that’s your job… to take control of your own life. When you do that, you’ll have more resources with which to help your clients take control of theirs. If you CAN’T take control of your life… then I’d be a bit worried about you coaching lots more clients anyway. With that said, we’ve all got to start somewhere, so just coach as many as you can (while improving your own life and business so you can help even more).

    4) HOW TO DO THIS STUFF WITHOUT GOING NUTS: first: The only way to eat an elephant is ONE BITE AT A TIME. second: Get a coach to help you keep your head. third: There’s no difference between doing ‘all this stuff’ and, let’s say, watching TV, or doing whatever you do with your day right now. IT’S JUST DOING DIFFERENT THINGS WITH YOUR TIME. Don’t blow it out of proportion and think that it’s some ‘magic process’. It’s not. It’s just work. Get up, do it, sleep, repeat.

I realize thats not the point of this video but I can’t be alone in feeling like only a 12 brained octopus could do all this stuff while not going loopy or falling off the deep end.

This is project work, so you aren’t necessarily finished with the project at the end of the work day. You may work for two days on ONE THING. You may work for two weeks on it.

There’s nothing illogical about that. It’s all pretty systematic.

A day’s work is complete when it’s 5pm. or 6pm. Or whatever time you stop working.

I run my own ship. Nobody is going to tell me when my day is done. That’s the benefit.

I have never-ending projects. My work is never done. I have to DECIDE MYSELF when to end my day. That’s the cost.

If you want someone else to tell you when your work is done, then you should get a job. Not worth it for me, though. If you want to give up your freedom so you can be comfortable, then that’s a decision you can make (and many people DO make that decision… it’s really a fine option).

You only have to be a 12 brained octopus if you expect to do all of this at one time. You can’t do that. You have to decide what’s first, second, third, etc. Then start on step one.

The real question is: Can you work on one project for one month without any gratification or guaranteed reward? Do you have the maturity and the confidence (or self-belief) to do that? If so, you won’t go loopy. If not, then YES, you’ll fall off the deep end and likely quit.

You’re right about delegation and automation… you DON’T start by delegating or automating. You start by doing it ALL YOURSELF.

DOING IT ALL YOURSELF IS A BITCH.

You have to take charge of your time, work, and mind. Nobody is going to babysit you in your own business (you can hire a coach, of course, if you need support).

At some point, you’ve got to decide that you’ll find a way to make a work. That’s commitment. Maybe you have doubts. Maybe you DON’T feel confident about it.

    I had doubts.

    I didn’t always feel confident.

However, I was COMMITTED, so I DID IT ANYWAY.

I did it on the days I felt shitty.

I did it on the days I felt lazy.

I did it on the days I doubted my plan, myself, and my chances.

That’s why I succeeded… not because I felt good about it. You don’t get to feel good about it until you’re done (and experiencing the rewards). That’s the challenge of life. You’ve got to take action BEFORE you get the reward and the confidence. Later on, once you’re getting the rewards… that’s when you start delegating and automating… that’s when you are more on ‘easy street’… but you’ve got to pay the price to get there.

Personally, I had to psych myself up most days… and that helped. But it doesn’t help every day. Some days, you’ve just got to do your best, even when it’s not good enough.

    Jeff
