Strategy coaching combines transformational coaching methods with specialized knowledge that address the needs of a specific market niche. We will use the example of strength coaching to illustrate our point.

 

What Are Transformational Coaching Methods?

Transformational coaching methods empower the coach to identify barriers that hold their client back from achieving their goals, and help them to eliminate the various forms of these barriers. The result is the liberation of the client from these impediments, and the empowerment of the client to step into a new more powerful life. The skilled coach, working with a willing client, can bring often these results in a matter of minutes with permanent effect. These methods are universal, and are used by strategy coaches addressing any niche.

What Is Specialized Niche-specific Knowledge?

If the question is how to become a strength coach, this specialized knowledge involves mindset, nutrition and lots of carefully prescribed physical exercise. For the financial niche, this involves detailed and expert knowledge of investment principles and current laws. Specialized knowledge is the expert knowledge that the client needs to achieve their goals, once they have been liberated of their negative beliefs and put upon a new positive path.

Think about it: how to become a strength coach? As I said: mindset, nutrition, and carefully prescribed physical exercise. Basically you have to become a subject matter expert in your area of focus. Combine this knowledge with an in depth knowledge of NLP, transformational coaching, and then throw in assessment coaching skills, accountability and maybe hypnotherapy and you are there. But remember you cannot do the whole job unless you are a genuine expert in your chosen niche – otherwise it just might be well rehearsed quackery.
