How Do You Find 5 Star Business Coaching?

October 27, 2014 by Fred Phillips 2 Comments

How do you find 5-star business coaching? How do you find the best business coaching for your needs?

There are plenty of business coaches, but how do you know if any of them will be a 5-star business coach for your company? How do you locate the right one for you?

Like any major decision in life or business, it takes a little effort, some homework, and some basic planning to make the right choice. Here’s how to do it right!

8 Steps to Finding 5 Star Business Coaching

You need a little help with your business. You want to get it started right, or perhaps it’s suffering in this competitive environment and you need a little extra boost. Why settle for a 3-star coach when what you really need is a 5-star coach? But, one company’s 3-star coach is another company’s 5-star coach. The quality of the coaching not only depends on the quality of the coach – it also depends on having the right coach for your business needs

What Business Help Do You Need?

Some business coaches specialize in specific areas. Do you need help with marketing? Do you need help with sales presentations? Do you need help on the administrative side of your business? Or, do you just need general help with everything? Identifying your needs is the first step toward finding the right 5-star business coaching for your company.

Match Your Business With the Right Coach

What type of business do you own? You want to find a coach who has expertise and experience with your industry. If you are a coach, it is best to find a business coach who has worked with coaches to bring their businesses to the next level.

Find a Coach Who Tells the Truth

Friends and family don’t usually make good business coaches. You want someone to tell you the truth. 5-star business coaching includes someone who feels invested and interested in the success of your business, but who is also willing to tell the truth to fix the mistakes you may have made.

Find a Business Coach Who You Like

Some people don’t get along – personalities sometimes clash. It’s important to feel comfortable with your coach. You don’t have to be best friends, but a certain level of comfort is important. This is evidenced by the fact that many women entrepreneurs prefer female business coaches – they just feel more comfortable with someone who understands their needs. See if you can get a free session or at least have a brief meeting to assess the way your personalities coordinate…or clash.

Ask for a Business Coach Referral

Perhaps someone in your business network has used someone they consider to offer 5-star business coaching. Getting a referral from another business owner is the best way to find one for your business.

Do Your Homework – Research Before You Buy

Before you sign on the dotted line, you must do your proper due diligence and look for reviews and testimonials on any coach you are considering. Reputation counts, so find out the reputation of any coach before you pay for any sessions.

Know All The Fees Up Front

Before you begin – know what you are paying for and what you may have to pay extra for. Having a detailed accounting of what the coach will do and will not do should help prevent any issues and problems in the future. Find out if the coach offers any extra products – books, DVDs, seminars, etc.

5 Star Business Coaching is About Having Business and Coaching Skills

You may not be able to tell before you start, but the best business coaches have both business skills and coaching skills. They should possess business skills like planning, business strategy, and time management. They should also have important coaching skills like inquiry, assessment, and the ability to inspire and motivate. If the coach doesn’t have both of these skills, you will probably not receive 5-star business coaching.

Helpful advice for those looking for a coach to help them with their business. A good coach is not one who only has good coaching skills but one who has good business skills as well.
