Using Joint Ventures to Grow Your Life Coaching Business: Know How to Speak With Confidence

January 16, 2010 by Jeffrey T. Sooey 1 Comment

Joint ventures can be a very effective strategy to growing your life coaching business. It might be a bit intimidating and many coaches will wonder how to speak with confidence when they have never tried this strategy. The good news is that, with a little preparation, you can learn how to speak with confidence and increase your chances of successfully taking your life coaching business to a new level.

The First Step Is to Find Someone Who Is Interested in a Joint Venture with Your Life Coaching Business.

The first step is often the most difficult, yet knowing how to speak with confidence will help you get through this stage. You merely want to ask if the person you are considering working with in your life coaching business is open to the possibility of doing joint ventures. If so, set an appointment to talk for 15-20 minutes.

If You Lead With the Giving Hand, You Won’t Have to Think About How to Speak with Confidence

Once you have set the initial appointment, the primal fear of how to speak with confidence will probably emerge once again. The key here is to lead with the giving hand. Ask questions to see what type of value your life coaching business can offer. Just like any other coaching session, if you’re nervous, you’re making it about yourself instead of your client. But if this step goes well, you’ll set up another appointment.

You Will Automatically Know How to Speak with Confidence if You Provide Value and Go Slowly

In each step, the key to how to speak with confidence is to provide value and go slowly. Most people try to go too quickly. Like all relationships, joint ventures take time to develop trust and rapport. Let the value you add speak about your life coaching business. Be prepared with solutions you can provide, and don’t forget to paint a clear picture of the benefits.

A Joint Venture Isn’t Just Good for Your Life Coaching Business; It Can Be Good for You, Too

Growing your life coaching business through joint ventures is just one strategy. But, whatever the outcome, becoming a coach who knows how to speak with confidence will allow you to coach others at a higher level. Remember, what you achieve is never as important as who you become in the process.
