Have you thought about getting a retirement coaching certification? If not, it’s worth looking at the retirement coaching niche. The target market is big and growing bigger every day!

Baby Boomers are Retiring

In 2011, Pew Research put out a report on the number of individuals beginning retirement. They estimated that on January 1, 2011, the first day that the oldest members of the Baby Boom generation celebrated their 65th birthday, 10,000 people would retire. They estimated that 10,000 people would retire each day for the next 19 years.

Well, it’s now 2018, and there is still 12 years left – every day for the next 12 years, 10,000 people will retire. By 2030, when all members of the Baby Boom generation will be at least 65, a full 18% of the population of the United States will be 65 years of age or older.

That’s a huge target market. Not a bad reason to get a retirement coaching certification and start working with one of the largest target markets you can find!

Retirement Coaching isn’t for Retirees

Though the numbers are spelled out here, the most critical part of the target market for a retirement coach are those individuals who plan on retiring in five or ten years…or more. Those are the people who need some planning and coaching!

Retirement Coaching is for Retirees

Though the most critical part of the target market is pre-retirees, those who have already said goodbye to their careers and steady paychecks can still use some coaching. Getting a retirement coach certification makes you a valuable asset even for those who have already made that scary decision to retire.

A coach can help with new careers, ways to save money, ways to make side money, and ways to enjoy the golden years. People need advice, help, motivation, information, and coaching!

Prosper in an Overlooked Niche With a Retirement Coaching Certification

For many people, retirement isn’t a fairy take with a happy ending. For many, it’s a struggle. As a retirement coach with a certification from an accredited coaching program, you can help turn those struggling retirement years into happy golden years.

The target market is big, the need is great, and the time is now. Retirement coaching is going to be grow for several years and earning a retirement coaching certification can put you in the driver’s seat for a rewarding and prosperous career.

Retirees Need More Than Financial Coaching

You may think that coaching for retirement is all about money coaching. Nothing can be further from the truth. While financial coaching will definitely be a big part of it, there is a great need for coaching on the non-financial aspects of retirement.

Many retirees don’t plan for or understand the physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of retirement. If you can develop skills with these less recognized facets of retirement and develop outcomes that can help your clients, your reputation and client base will be poised for exponential growth.

Pursuing and earning a retirement coaching certification will allow you to coach in a growing niche. If you can develop the well-rounded coaching skills that cover all aspects of retirement, then your future as a coach will look very bright!
