They estimated that on January 1, 2011, the first day that the oldest members of the Baby Boom generation celebrated their 65th birthday, 10,000 people would retire. Well, it’s now 2018, and there is still 12 years left – every day for the next 12 years, 10,000 people will retire. By 2030, when all members of the Baby Boom generation will be at least 65, a full 18% of the population of the United States will be 65 years of age or older.
