Because there is no government oversight, it is important to research all programs you are considering. Three Levels of Coaching at CCC
When you decide to train through CCC, you will find three different levels of coaching certification: Professional, Master, Specialist. What you take will depend on your time, budget, experience, and your future plans for coaching.
Professional
The first level contains is a 30-hour program that introduces coaching competencies and begins to develop coaching skills and processes.
Master
Once the Professional level is completed, the Master Level is a 35-hour program that dives much deeper into coaching competencies and provides a higher level of coaching skills. The Center for Coaching Certification’s Master Level is designed to further nurture the 11 core competencies of coaching and prepare the student for credentialing with the ICF.
Specialist
This prerequisite for this level is the 60 hours of training in the other two levels or membership in the International Coach Federation. It focuses on specific coaching areas of expertise. Training is specific areas include:
- Career coaching
- Business coaching
- Life coaching
- Executive coaching
- Wellness coaching
About the CCC
The Center for Coaching certification is a relatively new program; started in 2010, it lists over 1000 graduates. CCC believes in high quality content, excellent service, and continued support. They closely align their teaching with the 11 core competencies as defined by the ICF.

How to Become ICF Credentialed Through CCC
The credentialing process through the Center for Coaching Certification involves 5 steps:
- Complete the required training hours
- Once you begin your coaching career, complete the required coaching hours, including the necessary paid hours and number of clients.
- Complete the required mentor coaching hours.
- Submit your application to the International Coach Federation, including a list of coaching clients.
- Take the Coach Knowledge Assessment with the ICF.

The full fee to get started and earn a Certified Professional Coach designation is $1695. It’s not the cheapest, but quality doesn’t come cheap.
