It is named after a college alumnus, Robert Smith, a highly successful builder, developer, and philanthropist.

The Smith Leadership Development and Executive Coaching Program gives Smith EMBA students the relevant, real-world management and interpersonal skills required to succeed at the executive level. The program is fully customizable and includes an executive assessment process, personal executive coaching, and multi-source feedback.

This program seems to be a bit more focuses on creating executives and leaders rather than executive coaches, but it is a bit difficult to tell from the descriptions. Some of the links on the website are dead and it seems like the best way to find out is to email or call them.

There is no doubt that UM is a great institution for higher learning and taking the University of Maryland Executive Coaching program would be a great learning experience.
