Most people don’t say what’s really on their mind because of social constructs. We’re all learned, “If you can’t say something nice, you shouldn’t say it at all” and “Before you help remove a splinter from someone’s eye, remove the log out of your own.” What your clients really need most is someone who will take a stand for them. They need someone who is willing to be there unselfishly for them and say what needs to be said.

Most relationships are tit for tat. I love you because you love me. I won’t call you on your stuff and you don’t call me on mine. As a coach you want to remain completely unattached to your life coaching clients and their outcomes. The moment you need them to continue for money, connection, etc. is the moment you need to let them move on because you hinder your ability to say what’s on your mind and powerfully lead them to create their destiny.
