Is Your Life Coach Salary A Casualty Of Sloth?

November 15, 2010 by Jeffrey T. Sooey 1 Comment

If you are not busy building your business, you could be sacrificing your life coach salary on the altar of the seventh and last deadly sin of life coaching in my series—the sin of sloth. Sloth isn’t a word we use very much nowadays, except to refer to those slow moving, tree-dwelling South American mammals. So let’s use some more common words. Let’s use laziness, apathy and inactivity. Are you guilty of one or more of those? Let’s look at some of the ways they can impact your business.

Are Laziness, Apathy Or Inactivity Affecting Your Life Coach Salary?

This trio of synonyms for sloth can completely sabotage any entrepreneurial business. Here are some questions to ponder if you are not happy with your current life coach salary:

1. Do you have a business plan in place so you know how many clients you need to get the revenue you want?
2. Are you doing the marketing you need to get enough clients?
3. Are you keeping up/improving your coaching skills?
4. Do you have appropriate coaches or mentors to guide you in your business?
5. Is it time to raise your rates or develop new programs or products?
6. Do you need to improve your client enrollment statistics?
7. What actions can you take in your business to improve your life coach salary?
8. What are you willing to do to grow your business? Are you willing to do what it takes?

Is It Laziness Or Is It Fear?

As a life coach, you probably work for yourself and pay your life coach salary to yourself out of the proceeds of your business. Your salary is totally your responsibility. Whew! That can be a scary thought, and fear can masquerade as apathy or laziness. Fear makes it hard to think and plan effectively and sometimes you can find it hard to carry on. There are ways to manage the fears in life though, and as a coach, you know what they are. Use your coaching skills on yourself to examine your motivations, and have your coaches help you out with both strategy and accountability. You don’t have a coach? Shame on you! Maybe sloth really is holding your life coach salary down after all.

Hope you took some great value out of this post today! I’d love to hear your feedback, so make sure you leave a comment with your thoughts or questions. And also, you can click on the Twitter button below to retweet this article… Thank you!
