Why I Become a Coach

December 4, 2012 by Fred Phillips 2 Comments

I become a coach for many reasons – that is what anyone who is entering the coaching field will say if asked the question, “Why do you want to become a coach?” Careers in coaching are personally, professionally, and financially rewarding. When you become a coach, you will understand the power you have to help shape the lives and careers of your clients. There are thousands of coaches and thousands of reasons why individuals become coaches. Most coaches have a variety of reasons why they choose to enter the profession, and most realize how lucky they are to be in a career in which they can help others achieve success while also realizing their own success. That is what makes coaching a unique career and one that is worth the time and work. What’s your reason for becoming a coach?

Why I Become a Coach

To help clients:

  2. Discover their strengths
  3. Face up to their weaknesses.
  4. Learn to take risks
  5. Trust where their heart takes them.
  6. Find their passions
  7. Turn their passions into a career.
  8. Turn negativity into positive energy
  9. Turn pessimism into optimism.
  10. Believe in themselves.

Why I Become a Coach

To help clients understand:

  1. That life is not a race
  2. That life is a wonderful journey
  3. That life is what you make it.
  4. That life is to be cherished.
  5. That life should not be full of regrets
  6. That life is an opportunity.
  7. That life is precious.
  8. That life is a challenge.
  9. That life is a struggle.
  10. That life is worth the fight.

Why I Become a Coach

I am a coach:

  1. To help others.
  2. To make money
  3. To learn as much as I can about my profession.
  4. To become the best coach I can be.
  5. To dedicate myself to my clients.
  6. To become part of a dedicated group of professionals.
  7. To better myself.
  8. To be involved in a dynamic career.
  9.  To be involved in a financially rewarding career.
  10. To be involved with humanity.

Though there are thousands of reason to enter the coaching field, the most common response is, “I become a coach to help others.” That is not a bad reason to start a career. Not only will you be helping others find a pathway to success and happiness, you will be helping yourself – mentally, spiritually, and financially. Take that step and start your education toward becoming a coach. You will certainly be glad you did. One day, after you have been in the coaching business for many years, you can look back at your career and life, smile, and say, I became a coach to help others and that is exactly what I did.
