What are the most important\u00a0coaching certification criteria<\/a>?\u00a0 Here are the\u00a0coaching certification criteria<\/strong>\u00a0you should be looking for (in order from most to least important) during your search for the\u00a0national coaching certification<\/a>:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Coaching Skills<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Coaching Communication \/ Leadership Skills<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Coach Personal Development<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Coaching Sales Skills<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0 Coach Marketing Skills<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 Coach Time management skills<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0 Coaching Business management skills<\/p>\n

Here’s the logic behind the\u00a0Coaching Certification Criteria<\/strong>\u00a0priority order:<\/h3>\n

The top three\u00a0coaching certification criteria<\/span>\u00a0are the basis of everything. \u00a0Don’t even bother to pursue\u00a0national coaching certification<\/strong>\u00a0without working through a\u00a0coaching certification\u00a0that teaches coaching skills (I covered this in another article I wrote on\u00a0professional coaching certification criteria). \u00a0Communication and Leadership skills are the bridge between your ability to coach and your ability to run your business, sell, market, and make key alliances in order to maintain your business.\u00a0 Personal development is key for a coach.\u00a0 If you don’t continue to develop yourself, you may loose your confidence. People may see you as a hypocrite. \u00a0Any\u00a0coaching certification<\/strong>\u00a0worth its’ salt will included at least these three areas (at a minimum).<\/p>\n

Next, you need coaching sales skills.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 because if you are going to work for yourself, you’re going to have to be able to sell.\u00a0 I don’t care if you call it leadership, coaching, or a ham sandwich, but you’ve got to get your prospects to make a decision and you’ve got to ‘get the money’ (i.e. get paid) for your coaching.\u00a0 Coach marketing skills are going to be important in the future if you are to expand past having only a few clients. \u00a0Marketing is sales on paper or over the Internet.\u00a0 Marketing your coaching practice is a great way to find new customers and more leads to get into your coaching.\u00a0 Coach time management skills will help you go from working hard as a coach to running a coaching business.\u00a0 Time management skills are the way to change from one focus to another when you really need to do it.\u00a0 There are times that you’ll need to change direction completely in order to expand your coaching practice. \u00a0Coaching certifications<\/span>\u00a0that are really great will include at least some of the things I mentioned in this paragraph.<\/p>\n

Finally, the hope is that you build a certified ‘coaching business empire’, and for that, you need to learn some amazing coaching business management skills. \u00a0A\u00a0coaching certification\u00a0that teaches you this as well for your coaching practice is truly an awesome offering.<\/p>\n

The biggest misconception in searching for the\u00a0P<\/span>rofessional Coaching Certification<\/span>\u00a0of your dreams is thinking that the best\u00a0life coaching training courses are the most\u00a0prestigious coaching certification.\u00a0 Just because a coaching training has a\u00a0prestigious coaching certification\u00a0doesn’t mean that it is any good (i.e. a coaching training that will truly help you get more coaching clients and become a highly skilled life coach). Some coaches have a\u00a0coaching certification criteria<\/span>\u00a0that says, ‘I’m going to get more clients because I got certified’.\u00a0 You will get clients as a result of getting certified, but don’t get your certification because of that, or it won’t help you.\u00a0\u00a0Coaching Certification\u00a0will get you skills, but then you have to USE those skills to get coaching clients.<\/p>\n

So as you look for the right\u00a0coaching certification criteria, look for the coaching skills, then the leadership, sales, and marketing skills.\u00a0 Then if you get anything else,\u00a0that’ll\u00a0be the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n
