There are a lot of obvious obstacles to having your own life coaching business<\/strong>,<\/a> and some that are not so obvious.\u00a0 Life has a way of remaining fairly consistent, and without coaching life can be very predictable.\u00a0 A lot of people would love to have the lifestyle of a cat.\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t it be great to have time to relax and enjoy life, and then go out and do your business when you feel like it?\u00a0 Unfortunately, my cat taught me 3 tough-love lessons about running a life coaching business<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Kahlua\u2019s Life Coaching Business Lessons<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. If cats are not hungry, they won\u2019t hunt.\u00a0 They may play around, but they won\u2019t make the kill.\u00a0 It\u2019s the same in your life coaching business<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you are satisfied and content, you won\u2019t have the motivation to go out and get business.<\/p>\n

2. Given a choice, most domesticated cats will not leave a home that gives them regular meals.\u00a0 Most people are the same.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to leave a steady paycheck and risk financial uncertainty.\u00a0 If a cat is abandoned (or a person if fired), he will look for another home or job.<\/p>\n

3. Once you have eaten your fill, it\u2019s time to nap.\u00a0 Of course this is obviously a bad idea when it comes to running a business, but the truth is that it happens.\u00a0 Once we get a few clients and are content, we can put marketing on the back burner for awhile while we get used to the increased workload from the additional workload.<\/p>\n

How To Overcome The Predictable<\/strong>.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Nothing is set in stone, and we all have choices in how we run our lives.\u00a0 The point is that if you want your life coaching business<\/span> to thrive, you will have to avoid your natural tendencies.\u00a0 The best way is to practice what you preach.\u00a0 Hire a coach who can see your blindspots before you do, find strategies to navigate around them, and provide accountability.\u00a0 Then you can create the life you really want to live.<\/p>\n
