{"id":4718,"date":"2010-09-24T07:00:17","date_gmt":"2010-09-24T07:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=4718"},"modified":"2016-08-14T20:41:34","modified_gmt":"2016-08-15T04:41:34","slug":"coaching-techniques-the-power-of-saying-what%e2%80%99s-on-your-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/coaching-techniques-the-power-of-saying-what%e2%80%99s-on-your-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Coaching Techniques:  The Power Of Saying What\u2019s On Your Mind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/joan\/AppData\/Local\/Temp\/moz-screenshot-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/>The simplest <a title=\"coaching techniques\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/coaching-techniques-get-your-clients-to-tell-you-what-they-really-want-from-coaching-session-life-coach-tips-help-get-into-your-clients-worlds\/2175\/\"><strong>coaching techniques<\/strong><\/a> are often the most effective.\u00a0 If you can say what\u2019s on your mind, you allow your clients to do the same.\u00a0 In fact, if you are wondering something and don\u2019t ask your client you are really ripping them off by staying shallow.\u00a0 Some questions may have a taboo feeling, but unless you get to an emotional level of conversation you won\u2019t be able to transform your coaching clients.\u00a0 These techniques can help you get started.<\/p>\n<h3>Coaching Techniques To Rock The Boat<\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0 When your clients don\u2019t follow through on their commitments, call them on it.\u00a0 Don\u2019t step over anything.\u00a0 Most people are afraid to do this with their friends because they want to be let off the hook when they don\u2019t follow through, or they don&#8217;t want alienate their friends.\u00a0 They don\u2019t want to risk the friendship.\u00a0 You might be the only one in their lives that is willing to take a stand for them.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0 Use language that is outside the usual constraints of polite conversation.\u00a0\u00a0 Be willing to shock someone.\u00a0 If you go too far, you can always backpedal, but you are looking to get an emotional response from your client.\u00a0 Unless they feel the impact, they won\u2019t be willing to make a change.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Use metaphors that create an emotional vision.\u00a0 One client was not taking action toward her goal to become a life coach and was caught up in reasons why she wasn\u2019t able to do what she needed.\u00a0\u00a0 I had just come back from a vacation and the vision of how hard hotel maids work and don\u2019t seem to get much, if any acknowledgment.\u00a0 I used these <strong>coaching techniques<\/strong> with my client and told that she would be better off getting a steady job as a hotel maid.\u00a0 She got very upset, but it shocked her enough for her to realize that if she wanted a great life it was going to take commitment.<\/p>\n<h3>Be Willing To Get Your Hands Dirty<\/h3>\n<p>If you are not more committed to your clients\u2019 success than your own, you risk trying to look good and the best <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coaching techniques<\/span> won\u2019t be effective.\u00a0 You have to be willing to wrestle in the emotional mud to create a breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>Special Bonus \u2013 Learn 32 \u2018Guru\u2019 Transformation Techniques when you fill in the form at the top right and click the \u201cWatch The Videos Now\u201d button.
