Work is one of those 4-letter words that’s not very politically correct. Thinking about having your own coaching business in any other way is like saying you want to loose weight and want to continue to think that food is just about pleasure rather than sustenance. Just look at our society, especially in the snack food department. All these chips and dips that we like to eat during a football game are not going to bring us closer to any health goals. The same for starting a coaching practice. THINKING about your success is much different than DOING what needs to be done.<\/p>\n

Create your business. Part of the training should include an evaluation of your own strengths and weaknesses. Assessments such as the DISC and values assessments are great tools. Your coaching course<\/strong> should also include one-on-one-mentoring, actual experience coaching others with feedback, and specific information on how to start up and market your own coaching practice.<\/p>\n

Repeat. Repeat the skills you began developing in step one. Starting you own business is much different that working for someone else, and as an entrepreneur you can\u2019t afford to be comfortable.<\/p>\n
