{"id":4678,"date":"2010-09-22T06:00:41","date_gmt":"2010-09-22T06:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=4678"},"modified":"2016-08-14T20:40:26","modified_gmt":"2016-08-15T04:40:26","slug":"the-pains-and-pleasures-of-blogging-when-you-become-a-coach-part-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-pains-and-pleasures-of-blogging-when-you-become-a-coach-part-i\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pains And Pleasures Of Blogging When You Become A Coach: Part I"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you want clients when you <a title=\"become a coach\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/become-a-coach-how-to-become-a-life-coach-that-conquers-your-weaknesses\/3088\/\"><strong>become a coach<\/strong><\/a>, daily blogging as part of an internet marketing plan is fast becoming a must.\u00a0 So what is it like writing a blog?\u00a0 The journey\u2019s been rough but rewarding so far, definitely a mix of pain and pleasure for me!\u00a0 Here are some of my musings on the pleasures of the blogging process&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Being On The Blogging Team At JTS Advisors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The coaches training blog at JTS Advisors has been providing great content for several years, and I joined as a writer a few months ago.\u00a0 Three of us are contributing right now and it\u2019s our responsibility to have a new post seven days a week.\u00a0 It\u2019s my first experience with blogging and there are lots of rules for using a blog as an effective marketing tool when you <strong>become a coach<\/strong>.\u00a0 Getting comfortable with blog writing has taken much longer than I expected!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Pleasures Of Writing A Blog When You Become A Coach<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When you first <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">become a coach<\/span>, or at least when I first became one, I was\u00a0 focused on building my coaching skills.\u00a0 Then I realized that I also need to market my business in order to have clients.\u00a0 Both coaching and marketing are served by writing a blog, so it seemed like a good idea to learn from a master like Jeff, and start writing.<\/p>\n<p>I noticed early in my blog-writing endeavors that I was paying attention to plays, TV shows, radio shows, etc. through a new filter.\u00a0 When you <strong>become a coach<\/strong>, you start to notice that many people in your life could benefit from coaching.\u00a0 But with the necessity for finding topics to blog about, I began to tune in to examples of good and bad coaching (in my estimation) everywhere I went.\u00a0 I often reference films, TV, plays, or operas\u2013all rich sources of inspiration for the blog.\u00a0 True, it is sometimes an unwelcome distraction from being entertained, but my coach\u2019s hat is always on now.\u00a0 I jot down quotes in theatre programs and write notes to myself when something inspires me for a blog, and I carry a tiny digital voice recorder in case I think of something or hear something while driving.<\/p>\n<p>Another advantage I\u2019ve found in blogging is that I\u2019ve been forced to pay attention to topics I might not otherwise have focused on.\u00a0 When you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">become a coach<\/span>, you need to think about getting clients and running a business as well as about coaching.\u00a0 A blog post has to have good, varied content and be well written, so blogging has encouraged me to broaden my focus and organize my thinking on sales, marketing and numerous aspects of coaching that inspire me.<\/p>\n<p>I also enjoy the challenge of the actual writing.\u00a0 There are numerous opportunities for writing when you <strong>become a coach<\/strong>&#8212; e-books, print books and blogs, to name some.
