{"id":4394,"date":"2010-08-24T07:17:43","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T07:17:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=4394"},"modified":"2016-08-12T04:42:35","modified_gmt":"2016-08-12T12:42:35","slug":"a-timely-tip-from-nlp-life-coaching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/a-timely-tip-from-nlp-life-coaching\/","title":{"rendered":"A Timely Tip From NLP Life Coaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a title=\"NLP Life Coaching\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/nlp-life-coaching-free-coaching-training-change-clients-limiting-beliefs\/660\/\">NLP life coaching<\/a><\/strong> gets the results your client wants with a highly effective combination of NLP, the science of the language of the mind, and the art and technology of coaching.\u00a0\u00a0 A skilled NLP practitioner can use NLP to reframe events, remove phobias and cause transformations in a variety of situations.\u00a0 Recently, Matt Brauning, Founder of Evolution Seminars and Certified Trainer of NLP, taught me a simple concept and technique which may help your <strong>NLP life coaching<\/strong> clients understand their behavior around promptness, scheduling and time management and how that behavior might be affecting their relationships, their business and their movement toward their goals.<\/p>\n<h3>The concept of a personal time line<\/h3>\n<p>In NLP terms, each person has a personal time line which you can elicit by asking direct questions of her unconscious mind.\u00a0 In your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NLP life coaching<\/span> session, if you ask your client\u2019s unconscious to\u00a0 \u201cpoint to your past\u201d she may point right, left, behind her, diagonally, etc.\u00a0 If you say \u201cpoint to your present\u201d that may be directly in front of her, she may point to herself, etc.\u00a0 And similarly, if you say \u201cpoint to your future\u201d\u00a0 you will get another location on your client\u2019s time line.\u00a0\u00a0 In that way you both can see what direction her time line is running and where it is.<\/p>\n<h3>Interpreting the time line<\/h3>\n<p>If your client\u2019s time line runs left to right or right to left, she is a \u201cthrough time\u201d person.\u00a0 You can expect her to be on time to her <strong>NLP life coaching<\/strong> appointments.\u00a0 She likes things scheduled, is punctual and expects other people to be punctual also.\u00a0 If you suggest \u201clet\u2019s get together for lunch\u201d\u00a0 she wants to pin down a day and a time right then.\u00a0 Loosy goosy is not her style.\u00a0 If your client\u2019s time line runs front to back, she is an \u201cin time\u201d person.\u00a0 For her, the only time that really matters much is right now.\u00a0 Planning isn\u2019t important,\u00a0 promptness isn\u2019t important, and keeping to a schedule is probably a challenge.\u00a0 She gets caught up in what she\u2019s doing and loses track of time.\u00a0 If you suggest \u201clet\u2019s get together for lunch\u201d to her, she\u2019ll probably say \u201cgreat, we\u2019ll talk about it next week\u201d because it\u2019s uncomfortable to be pinned down to a particular day and time.<\/p>\n<h3>Using the time line in NLP life coaching<\/h3>\n<p>The two types of time line reflect both different client behaviors and different expectations of behavior in others.\u00a0 The differences can be a major source of conflict in relationships, and of\u00a0 struggles in meeting goals, particularly if they aren\u2019t recognized.\u00a0 As an exercise in her <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NLP life coaching<\/span> session, have your client physically reach out, grab the imaginary past and future of her time line, swivel it to the other position and click it in place.\u00a0 Ask if she notices any difference.\u00a0 It won\u2019t stay there, but she will get a better understanding of the other time model.\u00a0 Coach her to see how her success and effectiveness are being hampered.\u00a0 Then help her strategize her way to success.<\/p>\n<p><em>By the way\u2026 you\u2019re invited to claim your FREE step-by-step<a href=\" http:\/\/www.coachestrainingblog.com\/sp.php?adsource=blogtext \"> <strong>\u201c30-Days to Become a Coach\u201d<\/strong> <\/a>video toolkit.
