Did you ever realize that you are one of your own coaching success stories<\/strong><\/span><\/a>?\u00a0 I sometimes think about this when I am sharing what I do with someone who is just starting out their coaching career, making a career transition, or is a mom.\u00a0 But recently I realized that a big part of my own success is due to a habit.\u00a0 Before coaching, I get myself into a \u201cpeak performance state.\u201d\u00a0 I never really thought about it becoming the source for coaching success stories<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, until a recent 10-day vacation.<\/p>\n

When Coaches Go on Vacation<\/h3>\n

For the first time in my business, I decided to really take a vacation.\u00a0 I only scheduled a few clients that couldn\u2019t be otherwise accommodated, and vowed to only write a few blog articles.\u00a0 I was going to rest in the Colorado Rockies!\u00a0 Unfortunately, my 2 year old son discovered that he could climb out of his crib.\u00a0 The result was both exhilarating and terrifying for him.\u00a0 He needed extra TLC.\u00a0 My daughter\u2019s piano camp was quite demanding, and she needed extra TLC.\u00a0 In addition, everyone seemed to suffer from just enough altitude sickness to cause crankiness.<\/p>\n

Far From One of the Great Coaching Success Stories of My Career<\/h3>\n

What could possibly turn this into one of my coaching success stories<\/span>?\u00a0 I learned a valuable lesson in the importance of getting myself into peak performance state on a regular basis.\u00a0 Without this ritual, I became more like someone who needed coaching than the person who I had learned to become.\u00a0 I stopped playing big and powerful.\u00a0 I thought about survival instead of asking myself how we could make this experience a \u201cLevel 10.\u201d\u00a0 Thankfully I learned this lesson before the trip ended, and we were even able to achieve something my husband thought would be \u201cimpossible.\u201d\u00a0 We ate at a nice restaurant with my 2 year old son who acted like a gentleman.\u00a0 Think about how your own life stories could be changed just by taking the time to develop your own peak performance rituals.<\/p>\n
