{"id":3601,"date":"2010-06-04T16:35:23","date_gmt":"2010-06-04T16:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=3601"},"modified":"2016-08-12T00:56:07","modified_gmt":"2016-08-12T08:56:07","slug":"life-coaching-business-blunders-the-high-cost-of-coaching-trades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/life-coaching-business-blunders-the-high-cost-of-coaching-trades\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Coaching Business Blunders: The High Cost of Coaching Trades"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Trades never seem to pan out in the <strong><a title=\"life coaching business\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/your-life-coaching-business-is-it-worth-the-effort\/3536\/\" target=\"_self\">life coaching business<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t work out for your business, and it doesn\u2019t work out for your clients.\u00a0 It seems to be the ultimate lose-lose situation.\u00a0 Why is trading such a bad idea in your <strong>life coaching business<\/strong>, when if often works in other areas of your life?\u00a0 One of the most obvious reasons is that there are very few services that are worth your hourly rate as a coach.\u00a0 That means the client will either work 4-5 hours an hour for one hour of your time, or your hourly rate goes down.\u00a0 Either way, it is a recipe for disaster.\u00a0 But beyond that, the mindset behind a person who wants to trade just doesn\u2019t lend itself to a success.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>People Who Want to Trade Don\u2019t Value Your Life Coaching Business Services<\/h3>\n<p>Actually you\u2019re better off giving away your <strong>life coaching business<\/strong> services rather than trading because people who you trade with will think they\u2019re doing you a favor.\u00a0 This puts you in an inferior posture, which is a tough place to lead from.\u00a0 That is, if the client ever ends up coming through with their end.\u00a0 Most times you will deliver your end of the bargain, and they won\u2019t end up paying you in kind.\u00a0 Why?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Traders Aren\u2019t Committed Enough to the Process to Get Results<\/h3>\n<p>If someone washes your car, you have a result.\u00a0 You can never \u201cgive\u201d someone a result in coaching.\u00a0 It requires work on your clients\u2019 behalf.\u00a0 Once your clients realize that success only comes with blood, sweat, and tears; they\u2019re going to either walk away or blame you for their failure.\u00a0 That is a huge loss of human potential.<\/p>\n<p>So what do you do if you really want to help someone who doesn\u2019t have an ability to pay?\u00a0 They only way a trade has a chance of working out is to make it clear from the beginning that you value your services.\u00a0 You are doing the client a favor.\u00a0 If you do have a special arrangement with someone, you need to get payment in advance of providing your coaching services.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s not just for the benefit of your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">life coaching business<\/span>;
