{"id":3176,"date":"2010-04-08T13:00:07","date_gmt":"2010-04-08T13:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=3176"},"modified":"2016-08-11T03:03:21","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T11:03:21","slug":"life-coaching-training-essentials-coach-training-apply-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/life-coaching-training-essentials-coach-training-apply-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Coaching Training Essentials to Enroll Clients:  Coach Training You Can Apply Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Even after <strong><a title=\"life coaching training\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/2009\/06\/the-four-steps-to-becoming-a-life-coach-life-coaching-training-to-guide-you-down-the-path-of-becoming-a-master-coach\/\" target=\"_self\">life coaching training<\/a><\/strong> courses, many new coaches are unclear about exactly how to get clients.\u00a0 Sure, most <strong><a title=\"coach training\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/2010\/02\/coach-training-coaching-instruction-to-help-your-client\/\" target=\"_self\">coach training<\/a><\/strong> courses suggest that you run free sessions but a lot of time it\u2019s not effective.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 In order for a free coaching session to be compelling enough to enroll a client, that client must see you as the only way to achieve what is most important in his life.\u00a0 Most <strong>coach training<\/strong> courses do not make this distinction.\u00a0 Here are some of <strong>life coaching training<\/strong> essentials that will change the way you run free sessions forever.<\/p>\n<h3>Life Coaching Training 101: Establish Rapport<\/h3>\n<p>The first of these <strong>life coaching training<\/strong> essentials is that you must establish rapport.\u00a0 A lot of coaches think that having a friendly conversation is enough to establish rapport.\u00a0 It\u2019s not.\u00a0 You must get them to know, like and trust you.\u00a0 The <strong>coach training<\/strong> technique that I\u2019ve found most powerful is to use a three-part compliment.\u00a0 Compliment them sincerely, tell them why you feel that way, and then ask a question to get more clarity on what allowed them to believe or accomplish whatever you complimented them on.<\/p>\n<h3>Life Coaching Training 101: Use Your Coaching Skills Effectively to Make a Difference<\/h3>\n<p>The next of these <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">life coaching training<\/span> essentials is to make sure you are discussing an ambitious goal.\u00a0 One of my clients told me his goal was to complete a century bicycle ride in a month\u2019s time.\u00a0 At the age of 70, I thought this might be an ambitious goal so asked him a few more questions.\u00a0 I found out that he had done this event nine times in the past.\u00a0 This goal was going to be achieved whether we had this session or not.\u00a0 Don\u2019t let your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coach training<\/span> go to waste.\u00a0 Make sure you are making the best use of your time and your clients by having them tell you what makes their goals ambitious, and raise the stakes if you need to.<\/p>\n<h3>Life Coaching Training 101: Emotionally Engage Your Prospective Clients<\/h3>\n<p>The most important <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">life coaching training<\/span> lesson is to get your clients emotionally engaged.\u00a0 Just like no one buys a car for a rational reason, you must get your clients emotionally connected to their goal.\u00a0 It has to go from a good idea to a desire so great that they would do anything to attain it.\u00a0 One <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coach training<\/span> tip is to get them to see the pain they would experience by not achieving their goal and the intense pleasure they would experience if they achieved that goal.\u00a0 Then ask then what it would be worth to be able to make that choice.\u00a0 It has to be priceless, or they are not emotionally committed to that goal.\u00a0 Keep working with them until they get to that point.<\/p>\n<p>How long does it take to run a free session using these <a title=\"life coaching training\" href=\"http:\/\/www.successfullyspeaking.com\/life-coach-certification-how-to\/\" target=\"_self\">life coaching training<\/a> essentials?\u00a0 The answer is until you complete it.\u00a0 I have spent up to three hours with a client during a free session, because that is what he needed.\u00a0 I have also enrolled people in under an hour;
