ME: \u201cReally? How do you know<\/span>?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW COACH: \u201cBecause I tried it and it didn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: \u201cOh. OK.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow many times<\/span> did you try it?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW COACH: \u201cI tried it once. And then I stopped, because it didn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: \u201cSo because you tried it once, you\u2019ve decided<\/span> that it doesn\u2019t work?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW COACH: \u201cYeah, because if what you taught worked, it would just work every time<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: \u201cEven the first time<\/span> you do it?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you don\u2019t know anything<\/span>?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019ve got no experience<\/span>?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When your confidence is at ZERO<\/span>?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW COACH: (Silence)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest problem with the coaching business\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2026is that you make money by helping other people<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Why is that a problem?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping other people takes time<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People don\u2019t always want<\/span> to be helped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People don\u2019t always believe you can help them<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People stumble<\/strong><\/a> on their way to acting on your coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can take years, even decades, for your coaching to become positive results for your clients.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And, in the meantime\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026your fees may remain low\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026you may not get paid that much\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and your clients may delay singing your praises (while they deal with their own bumps in the road).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens to most new coaches as a result of these roadblocks and delays?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches flail around<\/span>, trying to get their own selfish needs met<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and usually fall off the wagon (i.e. quit).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All those big dreams and hopes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All those grand plans\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that \u2018make a difference\u2019 banner-waving\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Stick<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026goes up in smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026falls flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the \u201ctime of death\u201d is the problem.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those coaching dreams die<\/strong><\/a> sometime between the exciting start up<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and the moment of the big payoff<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026the moment all that giving and helping would\u2019ve come \u2018full circle\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026the moment their coaching business could\u2019ve paid them giant dividends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most coaches quit before they \u2018get theirs\u2019.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So, what do YOU do about it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You coach<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You work<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You wait<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You help<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you do all these things without bitching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without complaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without twisting clients arms for more than they\u2019re willing to give back to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without quitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then, eventually\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026you\u2019ll get yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the simplest formula for success in the coaching world:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s the translation of that formula:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HC<\/strong> = \u201cHelpful Coach\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

P<\/strong> = Patience<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[WORLD IMAGE]<\/strong> = Getting Your Just Deserts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, restated\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coach who can truly <\/strong>help<\/strong>, plus <\/strong>patience<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026inherits the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

So, assuming that you can truly help (even if you need a bit of training first)…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026patience is the only missing ingredient a good coach really needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what to do about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employ patience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WARNING: Many coaches mistake this \u2018employ patience\u2019 idea wrong.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They translate it to mean \u2018wait around\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or \u2018do nothing\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s not patience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(At least not \u2018active\u2019 patience.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve got to act fast<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve got to work<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve got to continue coaching<\/span> everyone\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026every way\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026every time you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ve got to learn the business and execute<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And again,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And WHILE YOU\u2019RE DOING THAT WORK\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employ Patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spending time<\/span> learning how to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spending money<\/span> I didn\u2019t have on ads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not one single paying client<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After waiting 6 months, I finally got my first client\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and they asked for a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took over a year<\/span> before I made any significant money from my online coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patience Employed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent 6 years recruiting, training, and supporting a coaching team only to have them stolen by a business partner.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Then I spent years rebuilding the team<\/span> with brand new coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, I\u2019ve run multi six-figure coaching projects with Shell, Dole, Vitamix<\/span>, gurus, training companies, etc.,…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and I did NONE of the coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My team (that I took over a decade to solidify) did ALL the coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
