\u201cI know I could enroll coaching clients if people would just give me a CHANCE<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(That was me, decades ago.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for years, I didn\u2019t get many chances\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026so I didn\u2019t get many clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the story of struggle I hear from too many coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how<\/span> to attract clients.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI put myself out there\u2026 talking to everyone (but with no response).\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s so frustrating, especially when you KNOW you can help clients and they really NEED your coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there ONE SECRET to enrolling clients in coaching?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

YES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Potential Client system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Potential Client system triggers potential clients to start talking to you about coaching<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And THAT is your CHANCE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026your chance to help them<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026your chance to enroll them in coaching<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026your chance to make this coaching business work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Years ago, I built my own Potential Client system<\/strong><\/a>, and finally got MY first chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spoke to sales teams, teaching them how to sell more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They all wanted to talk to me about coaching\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026which attracted hundreds of clients<\/strong><\/a> for me over the years. (I cover that system in more detail HERE<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I went from ZERO clients\u2026 to HUNDREDS of clients.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All because I built a Potential Client system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few years building my own system, I mentored Kelly (a new relationship coach), who also \u2018needed a chance\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly was coaching exactly zero paying clients at the time, so she came to me for help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I explained to her \u201cYour Potential Client system is like a lottery.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t win the lottery\u2026 if you don\u2019t get a ticket.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo ticket = No win.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c1 ticket gives you a chance<\/span> to win, but it\u2019s a VERY small chance<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe MORE lottery tickets you acquire, the more chances you have to win the lottery.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c1,000 tickets gives you a much BETTER chance to win.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn fact, if you get enough lottery tickets, you\u2019re almost GUARANTEED to win!<\/span>\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery potential client you generate is like a lottery ticket\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026it\u2019s a chance to win (in this case, a client).\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot every potential client will pan out\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026but if you get enough \u2018chances\u2019\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026eventually, you\u2019ll get some wins.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut, if you have no chances<\/span> (no matter how good you are)\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026you\u2019ll get NO CLIENTS<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven BAD coaches who have a lot of CHANCES\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026usually get lots of clients.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly asked me\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow do I build this \u2018Potential Client\u2019 system?\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I answered, \u201c<\/em><\/strong>Create valuable content<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (a webinar, book, video, or podcast) that helps your potential client solve their problems.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour system offers this content to potential clients.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome of them will say\u2026 \u2018I want to learn more about that\u2019\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey give you their contact information.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen they read, watch, or listen to your content\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026they\u2019re encouraged to talk to you about coaching<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe center of your Potential Client system is the TOOL or KNOWLEDGE that helps your client\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and HOW you give it away (called a \u2018delivery vehicle\u2019).\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly argued, \u201cBut as a coach, I\u2019m not supposed to <\/em><\/strong>tell my clients the answers<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said, \u201cYou\u2019re right\u2026 Coaching isn\u2019t about giving your clients answers\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026but you\u2019re not coaching them yet!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYour Potential Client system does its magic BEFORE any coaching<\/span> takes place\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and that system IS about giving them answers.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly said, \u201cOK, but what \u2018answer\u2019 do I offer in my system?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I asked her\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is the most valuable \u2018answer\u2019 your clients need?\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kelly said, \u201cDate nights.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy clients are always skipping date night because they run out of ideas for what to do on their date.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I said, \u201cDo you have answers to help them with that?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly said, \u201cAbsolutely! If I share my tips with them, they\u2019ll never run out of great ideas for date night.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly created a special guide called \u201c32 Ideas for Date Night to Keep The Fire Alive\u201d, giving it away for free to her audience in exchange for their contact information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potential clients contacted her<\/span> to request the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those connections led to discovery sessions<\/span> with some of them\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026which led to enrollments<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly\u2019s FIRST Potential Client system gave her lots of chances<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026which turned into lots of clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s<\/span> what you want\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Potential Client system that gives you lots of chances<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no guarantee that every<\/span> potential client will hire you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each \u2018chance\u2019 is a gamble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, just like the lottery\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NO CHANCES = NO WINS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LOTS OF CHANCES = LOTS OF WINS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only guarantee?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re guaranteed to lose<\/span> the lottery\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026if you have NO tickets<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you\u2019re guaranteed not to enroll coaching clients if you don\u2019t engage potential clients.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without a Potential Client system, the coaching business is a constant battle to get coaching clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? Because\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without a system\u2026 you have NO CONTROL.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your Potential Client system gives you control over your coaching business<\/span> in these 5 ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You get better and better at enrolling clients<\/span> due to all the practice<\/span> you\u2019ll get from a steady stream of discovery sessions<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You\u2019ll never seem needy<\/span>, desperate<\/span>, or pushy<\/span>\u2026 because the consistent incoming clients support an abundant mindset<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You\u2019ll choose which clients you want to work with (you\u2019re never forced to take a client simply because you \u2018need one\u2019). You can work exclusively with clients that listen to you and appreciate having you in their life. You never have to coach anybody<\/span> that\u2019s not coachable or that you don\u2019t like to coach.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The abundance of potential clients gives you the power to charge what you\u2019re worth<\/span>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. The stability<\/span> of a system makes planning your coaching enrollments very predictable<\/span>. You\u2019ll know how many new clients to expect and when to expect them. In fact, a good system allows you to increase or decrease your flow of new clients<\/span> based on your coaching capacity and fees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Some coaches tell me \u201cI don\u2019t need a system. I\u2019m just going to put myself out there.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I\u2019m not sure where \u2018out there\u2019 is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But without a Potential Client system\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Coaches \u2018just putting themselves out there\u2019 get clients inconsistently (at best).<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Deep down, coaches without any plan<\/span>, system<\/span>, or strategy<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026are usually afraid of failure<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If they only give token effort\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026maybe they\u2019ll still \u2018get lucky\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026their inner self will \u2018shine through\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026and the enrollments will work out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And, if it doesn\u2019t work out?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I hear these coaches say things like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
