Coaches get certified for 3 reasons<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But you won\u2019t get any of those<\/span> from a certification alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And coaches who think they will\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026end up broke<\/span>, out of time<\/span>, or disillusioned<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There\u2019s a lot of debate around IF coach certifications are even necessary<\/span> to be a coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sooooo\u2026 should you get certified AT ALL<\/span> as a coach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Maybe, but if you\u2019re going to\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Coaches use certification as a \u201cshortcut\u201d to get instant credibility\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026instead of earning credibility by changing client\u2019s lives<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Are you looking for credibility from other coaches<\/span>, or paying clients<\/span>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You don\u2019t really need credibility with other coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They\u2019re not the ones HIRING you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You only need credibility with clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Let\u2019s say your certification gets you into a \u201cCoach Country Club\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Approval from the entire coaching elite doesn\u2019t mean that CLIENTS will think you\u2019re credible<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Overinvesting into getting credibility with coaches\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026may leave you with little time left to gain credibility with clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Will a coaching certification give you confidence<\/span>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You don\u2019t need confidence when you\u2019re just starting to coach<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s only natural<\/span> to feel nervous<\/span> (or at least less than confident<\/span>) when you\u2019re first coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you had perfect confidence before you started coaching\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026you might be taking coaching too lightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Don\u2019t hide<\/span> from nervousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Don\u2019t try to \u2018fix <\/span>your confidence\u2019 by getting more certifications<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    USE this nervousness to motivate you to coach MORE clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The MORE clients you coach<\/span>, the more nervousness will melt away<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    No certification, or \u2018book smarts\u2019, can give you the confidence that experience, or \u2018street smarts\u2019 can give you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why do coaches think a certification will make them confident?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    PERMISSION<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Coaches treat certifications like a PERMIT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Think getting permission to coach makes your confidence flow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nobody can give you permission to coach\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026Not me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026Not any coaching \u201cauthority\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026Not even a client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ONLY YOU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And nobody can give you confidence to coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Self-confidence comes from the SELF.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Will a coach certification give you clients?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If certifications impressed clients<\/span> into hiring you\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026all certified coaches would have tons of clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Many of them don\u2019t have ANY clients<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Clients do not know if coaching certifications matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Clients care about results<\/span>, not where you went to school\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2026so give them proof<\/span> that you\u2019ll help them get results<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
