&#038; Switch\u201d Coaching Funnel?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lately I&#8217;m seeing \u201cbait &amp; switch\u201d coaching funnels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s how coaches are applying the \u201cbait &amp; switch\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dangle some precious resource, idea, or service<\/span> in front of your&nbsp;prospect (the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bait<\/span>)&#8230;\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">to get them to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">commit<\/span> time, <a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-money-objection-to-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>money<\/strong><\/a>, and energy to your coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eoTUVK2hBmM?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, after the prospect has <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/establishing-the-coaching-agreement-in-four-steps\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>committed<\/strong><\/a> (and usually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">freed from their money<\/span>)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026give them a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">second rate<\/span> product, resource, or coaching service (the&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">switch<\/span>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Often this bait and switch mechanism centers&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>around <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Discovery Sessions<\/span>.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coach offers a fantastic (sounding) coaching package<\/span> during a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/scheduling-more-discovery-sessions-methods\/\"><strong>Discovery Session<\/strong><\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and later provides a program that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">doesn\u2019t at all reflect the \u201cbait\u201d<\/span> they dangled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BAIT-AND-SWITCH-LOGO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BAIT-AND-SWITCH-LOGO-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Person class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In some cases, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the Discovery Session IS the bait<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In that case, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a coach claims the Discovery Session ITSELF is the solution<\/span> to the client\u2019s problem\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026only to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">use the Discovery Session as nothing but a sales pitch<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I recently signed up for a Discovery Session because the coach&nbsp;claimed it would help me get all my emails delivered to everyone\u2019s inbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(I send lots of emails to lots of students and it\u2019s a key part of my&nbsp;business.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I signed up with enthusiasm, thinking <strong><em>\u201cThis session is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the key to my problems<\/span>!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the Discovery Session, the \u2018coach\u2019 asked me a few questions about my email situation\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/money.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/money.png\" alt=\"mouse trap w\/ money\" class=\"wp-image-27947\" style=\"width:328px;height:275px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/money.png 940w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/money-300x251.png 300w, class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and then <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">proceeded to pitch a $6,000 service<\/span> in exchange for solving&nbsp;my problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No <a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/communicating-the-value-of-your-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>value given during the session<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No helpful advice or breakthrough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a sales pitch from my new \u2018coach\u2019 (in retrospect, they were nothing&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">but a salesperson<\/span>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I felt like Wile E. Coyote after the roadrunner led him off a cliff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since my new \u2018coach\u2019 wasn\u2019t a credible actor\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I broke off that \u2018coaching relationship\u2019 immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And don\u2019t get me wrong. I\u2019m not saying that you can\u2019t offer $6,000&nbsp;coaching programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lying about the value of ONE part of your coaching funnel<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in order to sell ANOTHER part<\/span> of your coaching?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coaches who use that kind of bait and switch coaching funnel are&nbsp;shooting THEMSELVES in the foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I realized <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I had been seduced into a ONE NIGHT STAND<\/span> with this&nbsp;coach, even though I was looking for a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">serious relationship<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They used all their \u2018tricks\u2019 to manipulate me for \u2018one night\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They attempted to get what they wanted (short term).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And they bailed out on me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, if you use \u2018bait and switch\u2019 tactics, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">don\u2019t be surprised if your clients don\u2019t stick around<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BOTTOM LINE: Don\u2019t expect to extend a coaching relationship&nbsp;past the seduction\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2026if there\u2019s no SUBSTANCE behind it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smoke and mirrors simply don\u2019t hold up for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you want to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">provide your clients with much more than a \u2018one night stand\u2019<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Me too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You still need to be \u2018seductive\u2019 enough to attract clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here\u2019s a different \u2018seduction strategy\u2019 to get&nbsp;clients.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">slow<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s still <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">exciting<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it\u2019s not about tricking anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There\u2019s SUBSTANCE behind my style of client seduction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, the sole <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">purpose<\/span> of my \u2018seduction\u2019 strategy is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to move towards a sincere \u2018marriage proposal\u2019.<\/span>..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Slow seduction\" class=\"wp-image-27940\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo-640x360.jpg 640w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/slow-seducation-logo.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026not a \u2018one night stand\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Most of my \u201cSlow Seduction Coaching Funnel\u201d defies conventional marketing wisdom.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conventional salesmanship says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cStrike while the iron is hot. You better <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">move fast or you\u2019ll lose the sale<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I slow things down<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The enrollment process <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">isn\u2019t about \u2018making a sale\u2019<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026it\u2019s about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">making a significant impact<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The enrollment process <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">isn\u2019t about \u2018making a sale\u2019<\/span>\u2026it\u2019s about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">making a significant impact<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conventional salesmanship says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cYou need to get full commitment and money from the prospect prior to giving them any real value.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, I like to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">give tons of value<\/span>, right up front, with no obligation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people will take advantage of that. Let them do that and go elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conventional salesmanship says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cLock the client into a commitment UP FRONT, and make it hard for them to escape.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I offer lots of \u2018off ramps\u2019<\/span> throughout the enrollment process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conventional business practice says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cKeep things hyper-efficient and drastically limit the amount of time and resources given to a client.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I like to give more and more as the coaching relationship grows<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be fair\u2026 <strong>BOTH approaches can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">work<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BOTH approaches can create a successful coaching business, and even successful clients.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So don\u2019t think that I\u2019m saying you can\u2019t employ a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">variety of marketing and sales tactics<\/span> to enroll clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fact is: Manipulation WORKS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s why so many people (coaches included) are manipulative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u2018slow approach\u2019 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is just MY style<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How does my \u2018slow seduction\u2019 coaching funnel work?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>First Step: The \u2018Coffee Date\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you first meet someone, \u201cgoing to coffee\u201d is a comfortable and easy step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My coaching version of the \u2018coffee date\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a casual call<\/span> (usually around 30 minutes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eoTUVK2hBmM?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">this call is NOT a coaching session<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do we do on the call?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I ask a few questions about their goals and problems, and get to know them a little bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nothing at stake<\/span> at this point\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nothing to sell them<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The client hasn\u2019t committed to anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u2018coffee date\u2019 is just a chance to get to know each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where\u2019s the \u2018seduction\u2019?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The questions I\u2019m asking help me to begin <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a \u2018needs analysis\u2019.<\/span>..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026so I can determine and recommend what next steps we might take (if any).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>\u201cWhat is your #1 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">goal<\/span>?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>\u201cWhat is your biggest <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">challenge<\/span> that gets in the way of that goal?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>\u201cWhat do you think is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">solution<\/span> to that challenge?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although I\u2019m up front about this \u2018secondary gain\u2019 from our conversation\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026the whole \u2018coffee date\u2019 still <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">feels like two people becoming friends<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why wouldn\u2019t I run a Discovery Session on the first call?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A worthy Discovery Session takes more time and energy\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026so a short, casual \u2018get to know you\u2019 allows me to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">limit my investment<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026prior to determining if we are a fit to work together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THE POINT: Why waste time trying to help someone that\u2019s not a fit?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u2019t make this distinction early on in my coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I first started coaching, I would spend HOURS with every single prospect\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026even when I could\u2019ve quickly discovered that they weren\u2019t a good fit for coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now I don\u2019t use so much time and energy (nor do my prospective clients).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it seems like a fit, I\u2019ll proceed to the\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Second Step: The \u2018Relationship\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Assuming that the \u2018coffee date\u2019 went well, it\u2019s time the relationship gets serious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coaching version of a \u2018serious relationship\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I send a recommendation to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">schedule a \u2018Discovery Session\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My Discovery Session is a bit different, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I CHARGE for Discovery Sessions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because we\u2019ve already formed a comfort level together\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and the client <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has a good sense as to the value<\/span> coaching class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If they show up to the next call and can\u2019t make it happen, that\u2019s fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If they show up to the call, and sign up for coaching, but back out later, that\u2019s fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But you know what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the time 90% of coaching clients arrive at THIS point\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026they agree to move forward with some form of paid, ongoing coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the time 90% of coaching clients arrive at THIS point\u2026they agree to move forward with some form of paid, ongoing coaching.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The downside of the \u2018slow seduction\u2019 coaching funnel?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s SLOW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This process takes a period of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">weeks<\/span> (or even <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">months<\/span>) to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Partly due to my schedule being booked around 30 days in advance)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I lost a few prospective clients along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The few times a prospective client has bailed on the process\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026they tell me that they got impatient and sought out some other coach (who probably pounced on them instantly).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wonder about the potential clients that had such urgency that they just couldn\u2019t wait for that coaching call with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Were they in such an urgent mess?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did they even care who their coach was?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I wonder if they were ready for the caliber of coaching I provide?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever the answer, I don\u2019t think I lost such a great client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Either way, when I lose a potential client to their \u2018urgency reflex\u2019&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I usually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">feel like I dodged a bullet<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it wasn\u2019t going to be a fit to work together\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I\u2019d rather avoid enrolling the client in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Just <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">working with the \u2018cream of the crop\u2019,<\/span> and making sure that nobody\u2019s wasting their time?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That works for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That way, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">my \u2018tribe\u2019 is attracted to me organically<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anybody NOT in my tribe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\u2019re out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That way, they can go find what works for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No desperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No bait and switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No bullshit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Slow Seduction class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They KNOW that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">whoever they refer to me will be treated well<\/span> (whether or not we work together).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All their referrals have a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">positive, satisfying<\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">valuable<\/span> experience with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love to know that I\u2019m providing this to both clients, partners, and other <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">referral sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EVERYBODY wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It seems that this is what most any coach would want, right?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For the people they serve to feel comfortable sending them more and more <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>coaching clients.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I mean\u2026 Why would I send you a referral\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026if I know you\u2019re going to put them <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">under pressure<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026if I think you\u2019ll make them inappropriately <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">uncomfortable<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026if I expect some kind of \u2018bait and switch\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yuck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>That\u2019s the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">problem<\/span> with those \u2018bait and switch\u2019 tactics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No one wants to send you clients.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clients don\u2019t get coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coaches don\u2019t get clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everybody LOSES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It\u2019s Fun<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since I\u2019m not under any pressure to enroll a client in the short term:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I get to know them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I explore their world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I find ways to help them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That feels great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">client gets lots of value<\/span> compared to the time and money they\u2019ve invested\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and they feel free to decide what\u2019s next in their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019d be surprised at
