Last week, I told you the 3 keys to setting Discovery Sessions<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Share the top 3 benefits<\/span> of your discovery session.<\/li>
  2. Ask<\/span> DIRECTLY \u201cWould you like to have a discovery session?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
  3. After asking, be silent for as long as it takes<\/span> them to answer you.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    But many<\/span> coaches still don\u2019t use these 3 keys<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because they are afraid of REJECTION<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fear of rejection (coaching flavor) is a result of these 3 disempowering <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    mindsets<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. \u201cI\u2019m not a good enough<\/span> coach\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
    2. \u201cThis particular person doesn\u2019t need<\/span> coaching.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
    3. \u201cI NEED this client.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      To overcome fear<\/strong><\/a> of rejection, adopt the \u201c3 Mindsets of Abundant Discovery Sessions\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. \u201cI\u2019m an awesome coach<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
      2. \u201cThis particular person needs a discovery session<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li>
      3. \u201cI don\u2019t need<\/span> this client.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        If you adopt those 3 mindsets, the fear goes away<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026AND you\u2019ll schedule more discovery sessions<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Let\u2019s talk about each mindset\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Disempowering Mindset #1: \u201cI\u2019m not a good enough coach.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If you believe you\u2019re not a good enough coach\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026or even if you question your coaching ability\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026then you\u2019ll hesitate<\/span> to offer your potential clients a discovery session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Instead, adopt the Mindset of Abundant Discovery Sessions: \u201cI\u2019m an <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        awesome coach.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Having almost ANY coach is better than NO coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        You\u2019re the coach<\/span> this particular client has access to right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Offering them your discovery session is a catalyst to make your client\u2019s life<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        better<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Not everyone has access to the top coaches in the world\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026but they do<\/span> have access to YOU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        A good person wouldn\u2019t offer coaching to someone who doesn’t need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        And you\u2019re a good person<\/strong><\/a>, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Instead, adopt the Mindset of Abundant Discovery Sessions: \u201cThis <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        It\u2019s true, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        EVERYONE needs coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        EVERYONE has blind spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        EVERYONE would achieve their goals faster and easier if they had coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Coaching is something everyone deserves<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        No matter how successful<\/span> and impressive<\/span> your prospective clients seem\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Don\u2019t they have bad habits<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Don\u2019t they have a relationship that could be improved<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Don\u2019t they have room to improve their health<\/span>, family<\/span>, or finances<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Disempowering Mindset #3: \u201cI NEED this client.\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If you think you need<\/span> a client\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026then you\u2019ll stumble<\/span> as you attempt to schedule their discovery session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If you\u2019re needy enough, you\u2019ll get so intimidated<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026that you won\u2019t even attempt<\/span> to offer a discovery session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Coaches stuck in this mindset feel like the client is Caesar<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026and they are a Gladiator<\/span> in the Roman Colosseum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        All the client has to do is give a \u201cthumbs down\u201d…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026and the coach\u2019s day (life?) is ruined<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Sound ridiculous<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Sound over the top<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Sound childish<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        It\u2019s ABSOLUTELY how many<\/span> coaches feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        BOTTOM LINE: Needing clients to validate you<\/span> is a recipe for failure<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        YES, you do need paying clients in your coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        BUT, no ONE client is \u201clife or death\u201d<\/span> for your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Your client benefits from a discovery session with you\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026more<\/span> than YOU benefit from that discovery session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        THEY get priceless breakthroughs and rare insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        YOU give up a part of your afternoon without getting paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        You can always work with another client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        There are MILLIONS of people who could become your client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        However, your client only has ONE life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        And there aren\u2019t unlimited coaches<\/span> on the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If your potential client doesn’t have a coach\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026they miss out<\/span> on a key life success advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Don\u2019t allow their continued suffering<\/span>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Offer them a discovery session<\/span> and give them a chance to change their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        That discovery session is FOR THEM\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \u2026NOT for YOU.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        THEY may need<\/span> it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        YOU never<\/span> do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
