Versus Generosity in Coaching"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today I\u2019m going to admit something about my coaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Something that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I\u2019ve never told anyone<\/span> in my entire <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">22 years<\/span> in the coaching industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coaching is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">caring profession<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most coaches are willing to give up their time, energy, and money\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">change someone else\u2019s life for the better<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite that, some of Master Coach University\u2019s most advanced students <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">act pretty selfish<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Complaining<\/li><li>Griping about petty grievances<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Passing judgment<\/span> on clients and fellow students<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Does it seem <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">odd<\/span> that coaches can come from such a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">selfish and judgemental<\/span> place?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It never surprises me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">these coaches remind me of myself<\/span> (at my worst) when I don\u2019t get what I want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I lash out\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">attack<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I get \u2018<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">petty\u2019<\/span>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026so I can get what I selfishly want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m justified, righteous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purely selfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opposite of the spirit of coaching<\/span>, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I always thought I was motivated to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">make a difference<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">change lives<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I thought I was \u2018Mr. Altruism\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>But (years ago) my coach pointed out my selfish side.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She noticed that I was \u2018too hungry\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She asked\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cWhy are you so <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">driven<\/span> to \u2018do coaching\u2019 as a career?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cAren\u2019t you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">already generous and giving<\/span> in your own life?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I replied\u2026 <strong><em>\u201cUh\u2026 not really, I guess.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that\u2019s when I realized\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stingy, selfish, and egotistical<\/span> throughout the other parts of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking back, most of my life (up until that moment)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">all about ME<\/span>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here are a few snapshots from my self-centered life:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was a musician and performer who <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">enjoyed the applause and glory of a crowd<\/span> appreciating my art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After that, I was a day-trader, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">greedily pursuing financial gains<\/span> to enrich my account, buy fancy stuff, and impress others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fast forward to today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s still a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">gigantic self-serving part of me<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and that part still drives much of my ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Was my motivation to join such a generous, giving, and altruistic profession\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026authentic?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Did I want to coach simply <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to LOOK generous and altruistic<\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did I sacrifice large sums of my time, energy, and money for the coaching profession\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026so that I can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">LOOK more generous than I really am<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did I do it all for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Halo_effect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>the halo effect<\/strong><\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am I just gaining influence through \u2018virtue signaling\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps I just want to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">LOOK benevolent<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026while deep down <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I\u2019m really SELFISH<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is my claim to altruism\u2026 bullshit?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How many other coaches (and aspiring coaches)&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2018waiving the banner\u2019 of altruism<\/span> and generosity\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026while, deep down, they\u2019re really TAKERS?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve worked with quite a few coaches who are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">giving and generous<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I\u2019ve also worked with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">coaches who are 90% selfish<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and don\u2019t even seem to care about their clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But all that is MY JUDGMENT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cSELFISH = BAD\u201d is just knee-jerk judgment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>\u201cSELFISH = BAD\u201d is just knee-jerk judgment.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We\u2019re all selfish.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have to be selfish, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or else we couldn\u2019t function<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question isn\u2019t <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">whether coaches are selfish<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The question isn\u2019t <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">whether you\u2019re selfish<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The question is\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2026how does your selfishness <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">manifest<\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">behavior<\/span> does your selfishness amplify?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">emotion<\/span> does your selfishness trigger?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does your selfishness <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bring to your clients<\/span>? \u2026to your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">life<\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some doctors save lots of lives through their own selfish motivation\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026so <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">selfishness can\u2019t be such a bad thing<\/span>, In the video, I\u2019ll explain how to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">How to Build a Profitable Coaching Business&nbsp;in 30 Days<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">Click HERE now<\/a><\/strong> to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">watch the video<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In fact, many coaches I\u2019ve trained <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">aren\u2019t selfish enough<\/span>.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\u2019re so worried about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">avoiding selfish tendencies<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026that they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">don\u2019t reach out to coach<\/span> anybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That coach didn\u2019t want to do anything <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that could also benefit themselves<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">demonize their own selfishness<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They won\u2019t allow selfishness any space in their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I always instruct those coaches to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stop judging themselves<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those coaches need to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stop making selfish \u2018wrong\u2019<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those coaches <a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-value-of-selfishness-in-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>need to be selfish enough<\/strong><\/a> to get out of bed in the morning and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do their job<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those coaches need to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">be selfish enough to reach out to that next coaching client<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you\u2019re <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not generous enough<\/span> in your coaching, you\u2019ll <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fail<\/span>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2026because you have to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">give so much in coaching<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>But, if you\u2019re <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not selfish enough<\/span>, you\u2019ll ALSO fail\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2026because you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">won\u2019t GET enough from coaching<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part of the coaching business is about getting and receiving, not just giving and contributing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Part of the coaching business is about getting and receiving, not just giving and contributing.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Want proof?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you getting value from this email right now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fact is, I\u2019m writing this entire email primarily\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Because <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I want you to open it<\/span>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026which gives me <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a better relationship within our email distribution<\/span> domain (a key metric my business needs to optimize).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Because <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I want you to click the links<\/span>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026which gives better metrics, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">gets you \u2018hooked\u2019 on Master Coach University\u2019s teachings<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, finally\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. Because (eventually) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I want you to enroll in more of our programs<\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2018selfish\u2019 motivation<\/span> is probably <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">making a difference for you<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(or else you wouldn\u2019t have read this far!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, Master Coach University\u2019s own Associate Dean, Dr. Coiner, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-value-of-selfishness-in-coaching\/\">writes about the \u2018power of selfishness\u2019 in your coaching HERE<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-value-of-selfishness-in-coaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-value-of-selfishness-in-coaching\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, selfish motivations can clearly <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">produce value for the world<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If you\u2019re <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">questioning, attacking, or demonizing<\/span> your selfishness\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>STOP IT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">outcome<\/span> of that selfishness is what <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">matters<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">intent<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t reject the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">emotions of selfishness<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Don\u2019t reject the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">emotions of selfishness<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those emotions are there <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to serve you<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t reject the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mindsets of selfishness<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hardwired<\/span> into <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">every<\/span> human being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No one is innocent of their own self-serving \u2018wiring\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s nothing \u2018broken\u2019 about a selfish coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sooner you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stop judging yourself for selfishness<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026the sooner you can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get to work and make things better<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THE POINT: It\u2019s OK to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">embrace your selfishness<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not wrong to follow your own wants and needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Then what\u2019s the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">problem with selfishness<\/span>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Selfishness is limited<\/span> in how much it can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fulfill you<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your selfishness alone will <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">never truly satisfy you<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selfishness alone usually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">limits the impact you make<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, although I care about ME, my METRICS, and my ENROLLMENTS\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and that\u2019s pretty much 100% selfish\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I also <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">care about YOU<\/span> winning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">your most valued aspirations<\/span> in your coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026I care about the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">impact<\/span> YOU make <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">on so many clients that I\u2019ll never meet<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That expanded view was part of what motivated me to write this email\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add some <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">intelligence, integrity, generosity, and larger view thinking<\/span> to that selfishness\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026and you become a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">formidable coach<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Add some <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">intelligence, integrity, generosity, and larger view thinking<\/span> to that selfishness\u2026and you become a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">formidable coach<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The coaches going through my advanced training right now are <a class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve found ways to be generous while partnering with the \u2018selfish me\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, that inspires a coach to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">see the bigger \u2018generosity\u2019 picture<\/span> through our trainings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few students begin to believe that their generosity\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Striving to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">help<\/span>\u2026<\/li><li>Putting out <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">more energy than they get back<\/span>\u2026<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Putting themselves aside<\/span> so they can truly serve\u2026<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026is part of the \u2018mindset muscle\u2019 they need to build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Selfishness can&#8217;t stop you\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2026when you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">turn up the generosity<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But don\u2019t forget to \u2018tune up\u2019 your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">selfishness muscle<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">motivate<\/span> you to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">make more happen for you<\/span> and your coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Generosity and Selfishness are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">two essential motivations<\/span> that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">drive your coaching business forward.<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too much of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one of them<\/span>, and it\u2019ll <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">steer you off course<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">right amount of BOTH<\/span> of them
