Are you too broken<\/span> to be an amazing coach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s easy to compare yourself<\/span> (poorly) to the great coaching gurus\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches who are more successful than you<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches with tons of clients<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches with a big following<\/span>\u2026 maybe even a podcast?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success seems to come so easily to those coaches\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2026because they look so perfect\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026especially when you are acutely aware of your own flaws<\/span>, insecurities, and bad decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that \u201cguru\u201d didn\u2019t start out perfect<\/span>.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re just seeing their final product<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re not seeing the years of work<\/span> they put into becoming that coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This reminds me of a dinner party where, when I walked into the kitchen, I noticed how beautiful it was\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told the hostess, \u201cYour entire house looks amazing.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hostess remarked, \u201cWe just remodeled.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instantly, after her answer, I let the hostess off her \u2018perfect pedestal\u2019 in my mind…<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and felt empathy for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I KNEW that hostess (or at least her life) wasn\u2019t PERFECT\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026even though her home LOOKED perfect<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because, having gone through a remodel or two, myself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026I understood what that meant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Months of dust<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interruptions<\/span> from workers\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and probably a non-functional kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tons of work<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026money\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and agonizing hours<\/span> of decision-making and planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read those last few lines again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does any of THAT sound like your coaching journey<\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So back to the question\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026emphasizing the cracks\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and the imperfections<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026instead of masking them<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the bowls not only become stronger<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026but more beautiful<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each one is unique\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026just like you and your coaching journey.<\/strong>In fact, almost all the most revered and celebrated works of art<\/span> in history\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026are IMPERFECT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026are BROKEN in some way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
