I asked a friend who lived near him to deliver some food\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
…some sandwiches, fruit, etc.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
And then I coached him.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Even though this guy was really down in the dumps\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026It didn\u2019t deter me.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Why?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Because the worse<\/span> off clients are\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026the easier it is to turn things around<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n …just like a $20 tip was life changing in my \u201cbroke\u201d college days.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The point?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You can always help someone.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n No client is \u2018uncoachable\u2019.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n But coaches think they need to work with clients who are already successful<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I\u2019ve heard too many coaches say<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and if you pass those judgements<\/span>, then you\u2019ll create that reality<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n This \u2018elitist\u2019 mindset puts your actions and coaching in motion\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Pretty soon, coaches get absolutely certain that coaching is only for the \u2018elite few\u2019.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n But that\u2019s just not true.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In fact, the least successful people often benefit the MOST from coaching<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Clients who are worse off can get even more value from coaching compared with those who are already successful.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I recently worked with two very different ‘levels’ of clients\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026a hyper successful client\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and a client at a very low point.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Both were in imminent danger of going bankrupt\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n My \u2018Elite\u2019 client was a high net-worth real estate investor<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n My \u2018Down in the Dumps\u2019 client worked at the local Walmart<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Think that it\u2019s easier to coach the millionaire?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I actually had an easier time coaching the Walmart worker<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The reason?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It didn\u2019t take much to help the Walmart worker in a BIG WAY.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I helped him break through his barriers\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and worked with him to plan how he\u2019d generate another $400 per month.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n He took action, and his income shortfall disappeared.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It only took a few days<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In fact\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026he went from being a drain on his parents and siblings\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026to supporting his own brother during his own crisis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n THAT\u2019s Transformation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In fact, the least successful people often benefit the MOST from coaching<\/span>.’<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Think that coaching was easier with the client whose life looked amazing?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n NOPE<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I gave them all my positive thinking coaching<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I told them that their psychology<\/span> was the key to their turnaround\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I helped them break through their limiting beliefs<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and do you know how they responded?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cColette, positive thinking got me to THIS POINT.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI have a strong psychology, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m ALREADY successful.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cMy limiting beliefs aren\u2019t causing the market to go sideways<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cI hope you have something more helpful than that! My payroll problem isn\u2019t going to fix itself.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n …and even though his payroll problem was a small percentage of his successful business\u2019s income\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I had no clue how his business worked<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I had no clue how he was going to generate that additional income (given his very specialized situation).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n At his HIGH LEVEL of success\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n He COULD be PERFECT\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and STILL FAIL.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Do you see how much easier it can be to coach the \u2018down in the dumps\u2019 client?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It just doesn\u2019t take much to change their life<\/span> for the better.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A hot shot that\u2019s already successful<\/span>?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n It might take a lot<\/span> to significantly impact them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Please don\u2019t get me wrong on this\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You\u2019ll usually charge higher fees with more successful clients<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n But part of the reason why you\u2019ll tend to make more money with those high ticket clients\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026is that they\u2019re HARDER to coach.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n There\u2019s a good chance that your \u2018high level\u2019 clients will stretch your coaching skills<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You\u2019ll generally pay a price<\/span> to coach that high ticket client.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n But coaching a client at a low point doesn\u2019t have to be hard\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026and you probably already have some of the skills that will universally help these struggling clients.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\n (NOTE: If you want to learn how to start your own coaching business, then check out this webinar<\/a><\/strong>, called “How to Start Your Coaching Business in 30 Days<\/a>“<\/a><\/strong> \u00a0During the webinar, I\u2019ll cover how to get your first paid clients fast and make it feel natural for you. Click HERE now<\/a><\/strong> to attend the webinar<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Strategy is a fancy way of saying \u201chow to do it\u201d<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n There are two types of strategy work you might do with a client:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n OBVIOUS STRATEGY:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Many struggling clients just need a few basic life skills.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n So many clients are down in the dumps as a result of missing some pretty important (and obvious) strategic changes<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n I\u2019ve seen client\u2019s lives change using obvious strategies like:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Your struggling client may not have friends or family who can provide these basic strategies or insights.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Fill in that gap!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n NOT SO OBVIOUS STRATEGY:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Some clients (struggling or otherwise) will need you to \u2018drill down\u2019 into more nuanced areas to develop strategies that will work for them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n This may take\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026before your client reaches a valuable conclusion that makes a difference for them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The key to this \u2018not so obvious\u2019 coaching is:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Accountability helps your client take action<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Usually \u2018lack of action\u2019 is a major problem<\/span> for clients that are in dire situations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Helping clients learn how to be unstoppable in the face of their circumstances<\/strong><\/a> can be a game-changer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n 80% of your client\u2019s results are related to their psychology.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Helping your client learn tools to <\/strong><\/a>manage their state of mind<\/strong><\/a> and break through their limiting beliefs<\/span> is priceless.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Whatever your client focuses on will determine:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Accountability helps your client take action<\/span>.”<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Help your client clarify what they really want, then support them to:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Peers:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n So many clients who fall into hard times miss out on peer support<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Your client\u2019s resources come from the 5 people they associate with<\/span> most.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Support your client to find a resourceful peer group<\/span> so they access the resources they need to live their dreams.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u2026so low that they shouldn\u2019t be a good candidate for coaching\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Don\u2019t give up on them.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n See the possibility<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n If you help them bridge a tiny gap<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Even if that gap seems to them like the chasm of the Grand Canyon\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You can change their entire life<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n One.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Step.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n At.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Colette “Coaching Through Crisis” Coiner<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\nIt doesn\u2019t take much for clients who are struggling to get value from coaching.<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
