Holding your client \u2018accountable\u2019 sounds like holding them \u2018hostage\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It sounds like convicting someone of a crime and punishing them with a prison sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know, I\u2019m a coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when I first started my coaching business, I was a hard driving accountability coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I helped a lot of people make a lot of money\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…because they got stuff done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or else the \u2018hammer\u2019 would come down…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What would I say to get them to take action?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ME:<\/strong> \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you finish your website bio like you committed to?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201cI didn\u2019t have time, it\u2019s been a crazy week .\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: <\/strong>\u201cI don\u2019t care about how crazy your week was! Don\u2019t lie to yourself.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know you could\u2019ve gotten this done and yet you didn\u2019t.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have no integrity with your promises, and I want to know why!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would you feel if your coach got \u2018in your face\u2019 that intensely?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people loved it\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others hated it and quit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until I took the Accountability Immersion Training<\/strong><\/a> (Just giving credit where it\u2019s due.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after I got my Accountability Certification, I tried out my newly found skills with a client who wasn\u2019t following through…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: <\/strong>\u201cWhat stopped you from making 6 hours of calls like you committed to?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201cI didn\u2019t have time, my garage flooded when it rained.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: <\/strong>\u201cIf you were unstoppable and 100% committed to getting this done, could you STILL have done it?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201cI guess I could’ve gotten it done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: <\/strong>\u201cAny time you let yourself off the hook for not following through with a commitment\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…there is a story that covers up the real reason it didn\u2019t get done<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s just be curious for a moment\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it possible that the whole \u2018garage flooding\u2019 thing is a story?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you think it might be covering something else up?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT:<\/strong> \u201cUh\u2026.I guess maybe?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME:<\/strong> \u201cWhat might really be stopping you from following through (BEYOND the story about the flooded garage)?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT:<\/strong> \u201cI got stopped because I didn\u2019t think it\u2019d make a difference\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME:<\/strong> \u201cWhy?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT:<\/strong> \u201dBecause I\u2019m not good on the phone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME:<\/strong> \u201cWhy?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201dBecause I\u2019m not sure what to say.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ME: <\/strong>\u201cWhat else does your story hide?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201dIt\u2019s hiding that I don\u2019t think I\u2019m good enough<\/span>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And at that moment she transformed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLIENT: <\/strong>\u201cWOW\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

…I didn\u2019t realize that \u2018I\u2019m not good enough\u2019 has been plaguing me for over a decade\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I\u2019m not good enough\u2019 has been robbing me of my life.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She went from making $50k\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to $120k\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…in 3 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did I learn that made the difference for this client?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Accountability Immersion Training taught me that there are 2 types of accountability:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. DRILL SERGEANT ACCOUNTABILITY:<\/strong> Become their hard-driving, in your face, take no prisoners coach.<\/li>
  2. DEEP-DIVE ACCOUNTABILITY:<\/strong> Identify what stopped your client from doing what they committed to, then create a new possibility for the future based on a more empowering set of beliefs.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    \"Accountability<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Of course, DRILL SERGEANT ACCOUNTABILITY<\/strong> is harsh\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …often breaks rapport<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …and creates resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And while some clients thrive with this style of coaching (Hard driving achievers won\u2019t respect you if you\u2019re too soft)…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …other clients fail to make progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why don\u2019t clients do well with Drill Sergeant Accountability Coaching?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    They have already beat themselves up<\/span> for not taking action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Harsh coaching just makes them feel worse…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And when you feel crappy, what type of action do you take?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Well… It\u2019s not good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    DEEP-DIVE ACCOUNTABILITY<\/strong> requires you to identify what really stopped your client\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …not a story, but the real cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Your client needs to dive beneath their surface reasons<\/strong><\/a>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …and identify what\u2019s really stopping them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What\u2019s really stopping them is usually about..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Lack of commitment\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fear\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Shame…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Or a belief that they\u2019re not worthy….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As long as your client has a lack of power with their commitments…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …Coaching will be like trying to anchor their boat on a sandy bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Without something solid, the anchor shifts with the tide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And your coaching conversations will be the same way\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …drifting any which way the tide flows…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    …so their life spirals out of control\u2026 into chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Deep-Dive Accountability<\/strong> helps clients identify their blocks, move past them, and take action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What type of action results from Deep-Dive Accountability?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Let\u2019s just call it \u201cPriceless\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
