{"id":26700,"date":"2021-10-04T15:43:14","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T23:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/?p=26700"},"modified":"2021-10-04T15:43:17","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T23:43:17","slug":"the-big-time-lie-that-crushed-my-coaching-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/the-big-time-lie-that-crushed-my-coaching-business\/","title":{"rendered":"The Big Time Lie That Crushed my Coaching Business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I blamed my family for why my coaching business wasn\u2019t working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I was lying to myself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I told myself I didn\u2019t have time for my coaching business because my family needed me\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;when in reality I wasn\u2019t willing to face my fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me explain\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" src=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1.jpg\" alt=\"Shadow\" class=\"wp-image-26702\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1.jpg 940w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1-300x251.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1-768x644.jpg 768w, https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image1-640x537.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a mom, I\u2019ve always drawn a line in the sand about what I was willing (or not willing) to give up for my coaching business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few years ago, I needed more time to work on my business and I struggled to decide what I could give up to create more time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I knew I didn\u2019t want to spend less time with my kids, so I decided to give up cooking.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I hired a friend of mine to come in and prepare food for the family as a personal chef\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;which sounded amazing to everyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But, I was actually worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What if my family liked HER cooking better than mine?<\/li><li>What if they didn\u2019t need me anymore?<\/li><li>What if she completely REPLACED me?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>But then, with my coach\u2019s help, I saw my blind spot.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was actually lying to myself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I told myself<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cI don\u2019t have time for my coaching business because my family needs me\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I had PROOF that I didn\u2019t have time&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would hover over my son all day, begging him to finish his homework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the end of the day, I was frazzled and frustrated\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;and had no business progress to show for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Not to mention that my son probably saw me as a hypocrite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was &#8216;all over him&#8217; In the video, I\u2019ll explain how to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">How to Build a Profitable Coaching Business&nbsp;in 30 Days<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">Click HERE now<\/a><\/strong> to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/qs-free-video-2021\/\">watch the video<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>He helped me realize that the lie that I didn\u2019t \u201chave time\u201d&#8230;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8230;protected me from facing much bigger fears.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;the fear of putting 100% into my coaching business and failing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;The fear of losing my \u2018essential mom\u2019 status with my kids\u2026 losing their dependence on me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My coach helped me realize that giving up cooking wasn\u2019t going to save me\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;I had to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">give up the story<\/span> that I was the mom who did everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;the mom who everyone depended on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;the mom who sacrificed her dreams for her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I had to give up those stories so I could work through my fears and start working on my coaching practice in earnest.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ironically, when I stopped telling myself I was too busy being a mom to work on my coaching business, I became a more patient and loving mom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After telling myself the TRUTH about my fears, I was brave enough to let my son do his own homework while I put serious time into my own business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, instead of a nagging and annoying mom&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;I showed up as a leader to my son&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;inspiring him to get his work done ON HIS OWN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now he\u2019s getting A\u2019s in school\u2026 and without my \u201chelp\u201d!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It turned out I didn\u2019t need to give anything up\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;except my own excuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had to take responsibility for my life and to stop trying to control other people\u2019s lives&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;even if that control was packaged in a &#8216;good mom&#8217; wrapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I had to take responsibility for my life and to stop trying to control other people\u2019s lives&#8230;even if that control was packaged in a &#8216;good mom&#8217; wrapper.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had to stop telling that story, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that story was all about FEAR<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sometimes your story will make fear appear reasonable to you.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your fear could look like a busy schedule\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your fear could look like you caring for your family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when you give up your excuses for not following your dreams\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Load-compressed-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/coachestrainingblog.com\/becomeacoach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Load-compressed-1.gif\" alt=\"Doves flying\" class=\"wp-image-26703\" width=\"256\" height=\"256\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;and face your fears\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;it\u2019s amazing how much easier things become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As my coaching business grows, I continue to ask myself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cWhat am I willing to let go of?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This question helps me locate my fears, and how they might stop me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This question leads me to let go of things I can\u2019t control, and to focus on the most important things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do you need to let go of to set yourself free?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colette &#8220;Let it Gooooooo&#8221;
