About The School<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center for Credentialing & Education offers coach training through several providers across the globe. These providers range from private companies to top-tier universities such as Rider University, which Forbes ranked  485th on its “America’s Top Colleges” list in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rider University is a private institution of higher learning located in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, founded in 1865. The school started out as a Business College, and on April 13, 1994, it became Rider University after going through a series of changes. The school consists of four academic units: the Norm Brodsky College of Business, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Human Services, and Westminster College of the Arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program Information & Requirements<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rider University is a CCE-approved coach certificate program<\/span> provider that currently offers 30-Hour, 60-Hour, and 120-Hour Life and Career coach training programs to eligible students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school\u2019s certificate program is uniquely designed to meet the educational requirements for certification as a Board Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing and Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per their website, there are three pathways to the Life and Career Coaching certificate to meet the educational requirements for certification, depending on a student’s educational and professional background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pathway One:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or a graduate degree in a field outside of social or behavioral science (e.g., mathematics, biology), three courses are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • COUN 500 Introduction to Counseling and Helping Professions<\/li>
  • CNPY 502 Theories of Counseling and Helping Professions<\/li>
  • COUN 505 Vocational\/Career Development or COUN 504 Vocational\/Career Development in Educational Settings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Total Credit Hours: 9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pathway Two:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For students who possess a master’s degree in counseling or a doctoral degree in a social or behavioral science (e.g., social work, education, health, or business), one course is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • COUN 501 Coaching Principles and Practices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Total Credit Hours: 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Pathway Three:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For students who hold a master’s degree in a social or behavioral science other than counseling (e.g., social work, education, health, or business), two courses are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • COUN 501 Coaching Principles and Practices or CURR 501 Coaching Principles and Practices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Student can choose from one<\/em> of the following electives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • COUN 504 Vocational\/Career Development in Educational Settings<\/li>
        • COUN 505 Vocational\/Career Development<\/li>
        • COUN 550 Counseling and Helping Techniques Laboratory<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Total Credit Hours: 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n
