Can you handle this? Are you willing to learn ways to deal with someone’s unadulterated emotions?

You have to be an emotionally strong person to deal with disease and dying. You must be ready for an emotional challenge.

Why Become a Cancer Coach

There are myriad reasons to become a cancer coach – the most important one is that you get to help people save their lives, or at the very least, make the remainder of the lives as comfortable and rewarding as possible. Others reasons include:

Help your clients find hope and optimism at a very difficult time.

Bring dignity to your client’s lives.

Help your clients bring joy back into the lives and allow them to live each day to its fullest.

Help them find the right medical care.

Help them learn how to ask the right questions of their health care providers.

Help them learn ways to fight fatigue, nausea, pain, discomfort, and emotional trauma.

Helping Coaching Clients With the Three I’s

When you become a cancer coach, clients are seeking outcomes to their issues as they struggle to defeat this disease. One of the best things you can do for them is to offer the “three I’s. These three are insight, independence, and initiative.

Insight

. Insight involves asking difficult questions and finding honest answers. Clients need to ask themselves these questions and develop their own answers. As a coach skilled in inquiry, you can offer plenty of help.

Independence

. Cancer clients are often dependent on many different individuals, from their physician to health care providers to family and friends. For many individuals, this dependence is almost as bad as the disease itself. Helping them find ways to become independent can be life changing for people with cancer.

Initiative

. Helping people identify and reach their goals is the foundation of coaching. As a cancer coach, you will be helping people with one very specific goal – beating cancer. However, there are many other goals that need to be identified and achieved – being as healthy as possible while sick, supporting your family, dealing with work, finding ways to be happy during your battle with cancer, determining how best to provide for your family after death, and much more. Identifying these goals and finding ways to achieve them means an individual has to take charge of their problems and then act on them. This is where you, the cancer coach, does your best work!

Becoming a cancer coach is a great career choice. As much as we would like it to, cancer is not disappearing any time soon – there will be a large client pool for a long time.

When yo become a cancer coach, you get to have a real impact in people’s lives. You get to make a difference in the world. But, you have to be strong – cancer coaching is definitely not for the faint of heart!

By the way… you’re invited to claim your FREE step-by-step “30-Days to Become a Coach” video toolkit.
