Keep interruptions to a minimum and allow the client to speak continually; however, try to keep the client focused and on target.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Reflect on what the client has said. Be accurate to show that you were really listening. The reflection and reiteration also allows the client to hear what he or she has said; sometimes when somebody else repeats their words, they get a different perspective.<\/p>\n

You should ask open-ended questions that allow the client to explore and find their own outcomes.
