The first thing you should get out of any training program is useable knowledge. The program should offer various courses that cover all aspects of coaching, from coaching to running a business. If it doesn’t offer information on starting, running, and promoting a life coaching business, you might want to look elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The next thing you should get is a certification. No, a piece of paper does not mean you are going to be a great coach, but a piece of paper does signify to potential clients that you worked hard to improve yourself and are dedicated to learning the knowledge needed to be a coach.<\/p>\n

Now that I have explained the good things about accredited training, let’s pause for a few moments and explore a few troubling aspects of accreditation.<\/p>\n

Because there are no universal standards or requirements for the life coaching profession, there are no universal standards or requirements for coaching schools. Accreditation can sometimes be used merely as a promotional tool or marketing ploy, and it can be used to charge significantly higher prices.<\/p>\n

Do you due diligence on any coaching school your are considering. Talk to past students, current teachers, and look for any reviews and testimonials you can find online. Make sure it has exactly what you want and has a stellar reputation to go along with the right courses.<\/p>\n

Most clients don’t look specifically for accreditation. They may see your certification hanging on the wall, but they probably won’t check to see if a school is accredited. Though accredited coach training<\/span> may not be important to clients, it should be important to you. As the coaching industry matures, certifications and accreditation will become increasingly essential for successful coaches.<\/p>\n

Though accreditation may have some issues, it is best to look for a school or program that is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). This means that the program has achieved the highest standards for accredited coach training<\/strong> in the world today. The ICF is recognized as a international leader in coaching certification \u2013 it is top of the line when looking for an accredited life coaching program.<\/p>\n
