As a business coach, you can help your clients with these crucial factors.

8 Keys to Business Coaching

Set up. This is where it all begins. In your business coaching practice you undoubtedly come across clients who want to start a business, but are finding it difficult to counter all the excuses and issues. I’m too old…I don’t have enough money…I don’t know what type of business to start…I’ve never run a business before. You work through inquiry to get an an outcome. Once you have that outcome, you also work with them on the details of starting a business.

Branding. Work with clients, through questions about their ideas and vision, about creating a unique brand that sets them apart from the competition.

Finance. Business coaching is all about helping clients start and build their businesses, and one of the major hurdles is money. Helping your clients learn about and explore different financial avenues is one of the most important aspects of your coaching.

Management. Whether your client is operating a one-person business or has several employees, management counts. Work with your clients on management style and organization. Help them discover the right style that works for them.

Marketing. Ah, here we are at everyone’s greatest fear – the necessary evil of marketing. Without marketing and promotion, most businesses will wither up and die. You must be on top of your business coaching game when you work with clients on marketing. They will resist and resist some more, but it is up to you to get them excited about the prospect of marketing their business!

Sales. Here you talk about and work out the details on product lines, a sales culture (how you sell), and the organization of your sales (the supply chain – from inventory to the customer’s door).

Delivery. This is mostly where you work with clients on meeting and exceeding customer expectations. You work on developing a methodology for achieving customer satisfaction and then help create a system that results in over-delivering products or services. Just as you should be doing in your business coaching practice, your clients must understand that over-delivering and exceeding expectations is one of the most important keys to business success. You and your clients must make the customer say…WOW.

Leadership. This is all about your client. This the crux of coaching – helping them identify their goals and then creating pathways to reach those goals. This is about working with clients to assist them in creating a business culture and vision designed to achieve business success and prosperity, while also creating personal happiness.

Hope you took some great value out of this post today!
