How do I Start a Life Coaching Blog? – Seven Helpful Tips

I just established my life coaching practice a couple of months ago, and so please, “How do I start a life coaching blog?”

About Blogs – An Effective Marketing Strategy

First of all, congratulations to you for embarking on this new career in life coaching. It is a rewarding and lucrative profession.  The word blog is a shortened form of its original name, “weblog.” These weblogs were initially developed to allow internet users to “log” their day to day details in a diary-style format. Blogs have truly evolved over the last decade. In several small businesses, blogs have become one of the most effective marketing or advertising tools used today to set companies apart from their competitors. Many coaching professionals have found it enjoyable and, as a result, have created alternate streams of income as bloggers and content writers for themselves.

The Life Coaching Career

A career in life coaching is attractive to anyone with a passion and a calling to improve others’ lives. It is a profession that has experienced tremendous growth over the last two decades, and studies have shown that it is here to stay. Life coaching is a future-focused approach based on the principle that the client has the inherent ability to determine and achieve their desired goals. Its primary goal is to take individuals from where they currently are to where they want to be in their lives.

How do I Start a Life Coaching Blog? –  Things to Know

Here are seven helpful tips to guide you in creating your life coaching blog page.

  1. Locate Your Target Clients – When starting in your coaching business, it is essential to know what type of services you are planning to provide, and who your ideal clients will be. When you figure out your niche, you will know who you will be blogging for and why.
  2. Locate a distinctive name for your blog page – Choosing the perfect name for your blog page has a lot to do with who your target clients or audience will be. It has to be a name relevant to your coaching specialty, the type of services you want to provide to your prospective clients.
  3. Writing Content – Your blog page’s content must always be relevant to the services offered. Be ready to share information relating to solving problems, coaching tips, resources, training, best practices, and content that answers questions (providing solutions). You should also share clients’ success stories and occasionally your personal success stories.
  4. Responding to Comments – Be proactive in responding to comments and suggestions from readers. Comments and feedback are often helpful in getting ideas of what to write.
  5. Be Creative – If you want to attract more people to your blog and keep them coming back, you must be creative. One way to do this includes posting engaging and eye-catching images that convey the message you want to send to your readers. Another way is to invite others as guests to write on your blog. These individuals can write on topics closely related to your niche, and some of them can be experts in other fields such as mental health, fitness, nutrition, etc. Doing this allows you to network with other professionals who can positively influence your target audience.
  6. Create social media sites and link to your blog – Sharing your content on social media is still a great way to get more visibility and ultimately increase traffic to your page. Sharing your blog through social media sites and other platforms create exposure for your life coaching business. Blogs and social media accounts often go hand-in-hand because they serve a similar purpose: connecting an audience and the content creator.
  7. Using Tracking Tools – Analytics are necessary for any blog. These tools will enable you to comprehend how people are interrelating with your blog page. They make it easy to understand how your site and app users engage with your content, so you know what’s working and what’s not. Most bloggers use google analytics to track their website data.
