Coaching From Peru for 30 Days

Here’s a short video diary of my time last year in Peru, where I vacationed in the Amazon, but also where I ran my coaching business and continued to make money from the Peruvian Andes.

This video shows my new coaching ‘office’ for the next 30 days, and the most important ingredients in an internationally mobile coaching business… wireless internet and a parrot named “Pedro”.

These next five videos depict my venture into the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.

The areas we spent most of our time in were the Peruvian Andes (highlands), the cloud forest (high altitude rainforest), and the Manu River Wildlife Reserve (lowland amazon rainforest).

Just watch the videos top to bottom to see the entire journey from the Andes to the Amazon.

How to Become a Motivational Coach Using 5 Advanced ‘Burnout Blaster’ Techniques

How To Provide Massive Coaching Value By Turning Your ‘Lost Soul’ Clients Into ‘Superstars’ By Using 5 Advanced ‘Burnout Blaster’ Techniques That Will Create A Shocking Recovery For Even Your ‘Worst’ Clients —  All In One Coaching Session

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

I got an comment on our coaches training video blog the other day from a coach asking me, “Jeff, I want to see some actual client cases and have you go through how you coach YOUR clients to such great results.”

After thinking hard about that advice, I realized that this is exactly how I learned to coach…

…by watching the best of the best coaches provide massive value to their clients.

That’s how I went from an empty coaching calendar, and wondering “Can I really coach?”…

…to a full calendar, finally proving to myself that I was a great coach.

And that’s how you’ll become a master coach and make a huge difference to mankind.

If you learn some of the advanced coaching techniques in this video and put them to use, you WILL get emails and phone calls from clients thanking you publicly for the difference you’re making in their lives, and you’ll feel a HUGE sense of pride, contribution, and fulfillment…

…not to mention gaining confidence in your coaching abilities.  Knowing that you will NEVER have to worry about getting paid a lot for coaching and then not deliver.

Burnout is a problem that many of your clients will have, and it is a big problem for them.

Burnout can keep your clients from:

  • Money
  • Freedom
  • Success

In this short video you’ll learn How to help your Clients To…

  • double their productivity.
  • overcome Fear and Procrastination without using willpower.
  • blast through burnout using the three sections of their minds “control room”

Most clients know what to do.

So if they have the capability to achieve more… then why aren’t they doing very well?

Because the of ‘x’ factor.

Most achievers hold themselves back because of this ‘x’ factor and you’ll learn about how to help these achievers get their ‘mojo’ back in this video.

The cool thing is that when you help an achiever master the ‘x’ factor, they go from a slump to ‘top of the world’ in a matter of months or even weeks.

…and it’s all because of YOU, their coach.

Then come the massive referrals.

How will using this technique get you massive referrals?

Your client is a ‘walking billboard’ for you.

Especially the achievers…

Everybody pays attention to how they are doing, so when they rise to a new level, EVERYBODY NOTICES.

They suddenly want to know what your client is ‘on’.  That’s when your client will tell them about YOU.

That’s how 1 client can turn into 3, and then 6, etc.

Jeff

P.S. After you watch the video, please do me a favor and leave me

a comment telling me:

  • what you’d like to learn about getting more clients
  • what you’d like to learn about becoming a known as a superstar coach

P.P.S. In addition, if you haven’t told me already, don’t forget to mention in your comment:

  1. Your goals for your coaching practice/business this year.
  2. Your biggest challenge standing in the way of your achieving that goal.
  3. The thing that you would most want from me to help you overcome your challenge and achieve your goal in 2009.

Coaching Jobs

The concept of coaching jobs is extremely broad territory to cover. I’m not even sure whether or not Coaching jobs would be the correct terminology but, one has to start somewhere. First let me start with a simple definition of what Coaching is about. A Coach or Coaching organizations are committed to transitional and transactional leadership. In other words, coaches invest themselves in getting you from where you are now to where you want to be. The core competencies are essentially the same regardless of Niche or style. Certain technologies, systems, or models are likely to be different (depending on the market served).

So let’s look the first aspect of coaching jobs – style. When you go through coaches training each facility will likely have its own twist. For example; with JTS Advisors’ organization, you have Accountability Coaches and Strategy Coaches. The upside to this system is that you become very skilled in one aspect of coaching. The sole purpose for an Accountability Coach is to make sure you do what you say you’re going to do. This is not an easy task. Most of us find reasons to not keep our word. These folks let you get away with nothing and the results are spectacular. These Accountability Coaches often team up with Strategy Coaches. Strategy Coaches are trained to help develop strategies that will meet your goals and impact your life in virtually every respect. They are collaborators, sometimes mentors and can be asked to wear the consultant cap from time to time. Their job is not to consult. It doesn’t do anyone any good if you don’t come up with your own answer for your own AHA moment. The great news about this system is that you can specialize in style. The down side is that you may limit yourself from extended growth. Another style is that that is common with organizations such as the International Coaching Federation, or CTI. Here you are trained to deal with both strategy and accountability and are expected to use the ICA (Intention, Commitment, Action) model in one session. The good news is that you can achieve a more balanced practice however, you may find that your strengths as a strategist overshadow the accountability needs or vice versa.

the next aspect of considering coaching jobs is niche. In most cases, you will be told to select your niche often before you have completed your training. The available niches are as many as your mind will allow you to create. There are career, marketing, life, business, brand, relationship, parent, teen, child, brand, sports, and weight loss coaches. And the list goes on. The important message here is that a niche – the market you serve needs to be clearly understood before you launch your brand. Is it viable? Is there a demand? Is there a lot or a little competition? Do your homework otherwise you may find yourself with few clients.

Finally, coaching jobs can be just that… a job (working for someone else). At JTS you must go through the designation process to become a JTS Advisors coach at which point you will be sent leads and clients and are paid accordingly. In other companies, you are trained in their particular style of coaching and are paid a salary to coach clients as they come through the door. Regardless of the business and selling model, you must realize that you are an employee and must “drink the Kool-Aid” so to speak. Like any employer, Coaching companies with on-site coaches expect loyalty and adherence to their brand. If you are someone who prefers autonomy there are other models to consider but essentially, you run your own show. What you should know is coaching one to one can be satisfying, earning power is limited unless you are fortunate enough to command top dollar for individuals who are at the top of their game; CEO’s, COO’s, political leaders, celebrities etc. If this level is not your niche, look for a model that allows you to speak to a larger group at one time. There are a variety of ways to do this and I would encourage you to explore the different models available to you.

When considering coaching jobs, understand how you work, your skill set and your leadership style. Do your homework just like you would exploring any career opportunity. What you land on needs to fit you by supporting your strengths and giving you every opportunity for success.

Leadership Training and Coaching Changes the World

When you first hear about leadership training and coaching, you can have many different reactions, but the truth is that it can, does, and will continue to change the world.  As human beings, our biggest barriers to change are fears, frustrations, lack of skills, and lack of knowledge.  We are fallible, but that doesn’t mean change and progress isn’t possible.  The best people to help individuals and groups make these kinds of changes are COACHES.  Leadership training and coaching will provide this kind of progress for much of the industrialized world and perhaps soon… humanity.

Here’s an example of how leadership training and coaching could impact major issues in the world today.  Let’s assume that coaching can help someone break through fear or frustration.  Do you think there is fear causing some of the financial crisis and recession that’s impacting much of the world today?  Absolutely!  People are AFRAID of stocks going down and so they sell (sending those same stocks down further), which brings more sellers because they are now getting scared as well.  Fear causes people to not purchase as much and so corporate profits go down as well, driving the economy lower.  Fear is not, by any means, the only cause of these market moves, but it is a major contributor to the intensity of the problem.  Coaching can turn that fear around and thus literally change the course of our financial history.

Let’s look at another example… is there some FRUSTRATION right now driving the relationships between, let’s say, India and Pakistan, or possibly Israel and other Arab nations?  Absolutely.  Can you imagine what kind of miracles that leadership training and coaching could bring to those relationships?  We are talking about effects that could literally save lives.

In many other examples I believe that leadership training and coaching can impact situations where lives are on the line.  It is our responsibility as coaches and leaders to keep putting one foot in front of the other on our leadership journey to provide the ultimate contribution to humanity.  We may not be able to ‘bend the course of history’ alone, but combined together, each of our individual actions can change the world with coaching skills.

What’s the Easiest Way to Become a Life Coach?

Did I just say “easiest” way to become a life coach? Really, how can we make this easy? Because I’ve been wracking my brain over this question for the last few days until my brain feels like it is going to blow a fuse. The obvious answer is to get some really great coaching about how to do it.

So let’s see what some of my mentors have taught me. There is difference between doing something, and talking about it. I doubt if any of the world class coaches are reading this, unless they are searching for an answer for one of their protégés. Because they probably can’t put the answer into words either. If you asked Michael Jordan how he gets the ball into the hoop, he would probably just shrug his shoulders and tell you he just throws it in. My mentors say just about the same thing about how to become a life coach.

There are four levels of knowledge…but instead of just going back into our heads about this, let’s step into the world of our mentors. When you listen to a session with one of the world class life coaches, you know they are in “the zone”. They are in the client’s head, heart, and very being. So let’s get out of our heads about how to become a life coach, because

There is a difference between TALKING about being a world class life coach and ACTUALLY BEING one.

If you want to become a life coach… a great life coach, then hang with the masters. Do what they do. Step into the zone. During a big track race in high school, I remember finishing the last 100 meters in silence. I KNEW the stands were full, but I only heard the sound of my feet. The quietness seemed so odd to me, that I mentioned it to a friend. She told me that people were screaming their heads off. THAT is the zone. When you are in the moment of BEing, you are aware of nothing else.

We’ve all had moments like that. Can you think of a time? How did it FEEL? Were you THINKing about it? Or just BEing? In order for magic to happen during a coaching session, we have to simply BE. NOT thinking about what’s going on with them, or trying to figure out what they should do. Just simply stepping into their shoes, their head, their heart…and BEing them. Only then can you can wrestle over their obstacles with them, and step into the realm of greatness as you become a life coach.
