How to Get Coaching Clients: Freebies

How to get coaching clients is one of the most commonly asked questions by new coaches. All coaches, experienced or rookie, want to learn more about how to get coaching clients. The secret to being successful is to get more clients. But, how do you do that?

There are many ways to market for more clients, but one of the best ways is on the Internet. People will find your website, read about how wonderful and extraordinary you are, and immediately sign up for your services, right?

Not really. Most people won’t buy coaching services off a website. It’s a great place to get your name and message out, but a website fails miserably as a sales closer.

How to Get Coaching Clients – Freebies!

The best way to get prospective customers to buy from your website is to give your services away for free. That’s right – I said FOR FREE! Freebies are the perfect way to introduce your services to potential clients. How to get coaching clients is all about giving them a taste of what you can do for them.

3 Free Offers from a Coach

  • Free coaching session
  • E-book or some valuable material related to your system of coaching
  • Newsletter

If you are giving away e-books or newsletters, make sure they contain valuable information. Teaser material doesn’t work – people can see crap a mile away! People who are searching for coaches, demand value even though they understand that freebies are a marketing ploy. If you show them something of value, you get people believing that your services are valuable. That’s how to get a coaching client!

If you are giving away a free session, you have to make your coaching sound valuable. Say something like, “Let me show you how you can double your sales.” Or say, “Let me show you ways to ace your next interview.” Or, “Let me show you three special tips to help you lose five pounds this week.” Give them a reason to accept your free offer.

Your freebie should be easy to obtain. If it is a free e-book, newsletter, or informational material, they should be able to easily download it right off your website. There is no doubt some people will just be scouring the Internet for free stuff and once they get their free download, you will never hear from them again. However, if you provided something informative and valuable to read, those people who are serious about hiring a coach will want to find out more about your services.

If you are offering free coaching samples, make it easy for them to contact you; your e-mail or direct phone number should be prominently displayed on your website. If they have to search around for it, you may lose them. Everyone online has ADD!

Why Give Away Free Services or Information?

Because you will get more clients, that’s why!

For as long as you coach, you will be asking the question: How to get coaching clients? Trying new promotional strategies and perfecting old ways will be a constant for as long as you own your business. If you haven’t tried giving away freebies, you haven’t tried one of the best ways to solve the problem of how to get coaching clients.

Making freebies an integral part of your promotional activities will continue to pay dividends and help push your business to new levels. Everyone loves something for free, and you’ll love them because they will help you get clients, expand your coaching practice, and make you more money!

How to Get Coaching Clients From Referrals

Do you often wonder how to get coaching clients from referrals? If you are anything like me then you do. How would you like to get a jump start on getting client referrals for your coaching business? Here are four tried and proven steps on how to get coaching clients from referrals.

Four Steps on How to Get Coaching Clients From Referral

Step # 1 – Make sure your clients and network know what you do. Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not the person with the largest social media network and/or mailing list. How to get coaching clients from referrals has a lot more to do with people actually knowing what you do. Unless people know what you do, they won’t refer you. Take time to figure out who you serve and what you do, and make sure that not only your clients know what you do, but that all your family, friends and anyone else in your already existing network knows exactly what you do and how they can refer you.

Step # 2 – Consistently follow-up letting your network know you care and that you are there to help. We all know that people buy things from people they know, like, and trust, and they can’t know, like, and trust you unless you have a relationship with them. If you’re not following up, how can you build a relationship with a person? Relationships are repeated times of positive interactions with another person, and that’s exactly what follow-up can accomplish. It is important to create a system for following up with people on a consistent basis, to build the know, like, and trust factor before you can expect to start even getting a coach client from their referrals.

Step # 3 – Separate yourself from the crowd. Another thing to remember in figuring out how to get coaching clients from referrals is that people have to not only know, like, and trust you, but they have to remember you. People have to remember you to refer you, so you need to set yourself apart from everyone else. Some people do this by picking a niche and becoming a specialist, other’s do it by being so radically unique that you stick in people’s minds. What I’m suggesting here is the use of personal follow-up methods that make people feel special and which cause people to remember you because you care.

Step # 4 – Cost effective follow-up relationship-building program. Sometimes trusting relationships take months and years to cultivate. That means that you have to create a follow-up system that is cost effective. Some ideas for this system would be using low cost methods such as email, greeting cards, postcards, videos, newsletters etc. To help with this, you may want to consider using automation in your follow-up. However, a word of caution, when using automated tools it’s important not to lose the intimacy and personalization in your communications.

In Conclusion

How to get coaching clients from referrals is all about building relationships. People have to know, like, trust and remember you, so be faithful with your follow-up and watch the clients roll in.

How to Get Coaching Clients to Pump Up Your Business

Stuck in a business rut and wondering how to get coaching clients? Have you tried all the usual methods of increasing your client base? Have you tried Internet marketing, public speaking, print ads, and more Internet marketing? Those methods work and have been used by many successful coaches as part of a long-term strategy. However, there comes a time that successful entrepreneurs need to seek out fresh methods to pump up their business and get a new client, or two, or three, or more!. Answering the question, “how to get a coaching client?” may not be as difficult as you think.

How to Get Coaching Clients: Two Short-Term Strategies

There are two successful strategies that work well to obtain new customers for your successful mentoring business. Once you try these two strategies, you won’t need to worry about how to get coaching clients.

The first strategy will cost you some time, but no money. Do you have any charities or non-profit organizations to which you donate? If so, consider donating your services as a coach to a few of these organizations. Most directors or presidents of non-profit organizations will jump at the chance to get quality mentoring at no cost. By donating services for a specified period of time, you will basically be offering an evaluation period to these organizations. Once they see how valuable your service is, many of them will sign up to continue your service. Free offers will lead to more clients and more money.

Another method that works to pump up your business is to have a party and invite executives, managers, and other business professionals who would be interested in your services. The party can be catered, or a wine and cheese event, or any other type of party that will impress potential customers. You can also host the bar, but that will add a sizable amount of money to the cost. This method will cost you money and time, but it will be money well-spent when the prospects start rolling in. A well-attended party means more customers and more money.

A Bad Economy Means Good Times for Coaches

If you are worried about how to get coaching clients in these dreadful economic times, don’t fret, it may be easier than you think. In tough economic times, many people and businesses struggle. However, the coaching business thrives. Because competition is fierce in a difficult economy, everyone is seeking an edge when it comes to their business. That’s why it is imperative that you get off your butt and start applying some short-term marketing strategies like the two outlined above. While others are crying in their coffee about the economy and watching the stock market go up and down like a roller coaster, you should start prospecting for new customers. The more prospecting you do, the more new clients you will get to sign on the dotted line.

Stop wondering how to get coaching clients and get out and do it. By applying both short-term and long-term strategies, you will gain a significant edge on the competition. That marketing edge will get you more customers. More customers means what? Yes, that’s right, it means more money!

How To Get Coaching Clients By Delaying The Sale

Whoever thought putting off your potential clients is the best way how to get coaching clients.  It’s almost counter-intuitive to most coaches, but if you have plenty of free time it’s almost impossible to enroll clients.  Is it because you look too desperate to get coaching clients to enroll?  Probably.  Just like dogs can smell fear, prospects can sense when you really need them to enroll in coaching.  Don’t worry because there are a few ways to prevent yourself from looking too eager.

How To Get Coaching Clients Without Looking Desperate

1.       Never run a free session the same day that you call to schedule.  Put them off for a week.  Better yet, give them some type of homework to get started before you even have your session with them.  In that way, it’s almost as though they have paid you for the session.  In time of course not money, but at least they have some skin in the game.

2.       Don’t let coaching clients start right away.  Letting people start coaching anytime they want makes it too difficult to decide.  When people face uncertainty, they fail to take action.  The best way how to get coaching clients is to only allow them to start on the 1st of the month.  People like to know you have a system in place that will help them get to their goals.

3.       Don’t give people too many options when scheduling a free coaching session.  If Wednesday is completely open, ask them questions like how does Wednesday look?  Is morning better or afternoon?  Any times that won’t work at all?  Then give 2 choices.  If you miss, ask if there is a better day.  Repeat.  Don’t be too much of a stickler; after all there is a point where the person on the other end of the phone will get annoyed if you can’t work it out.  Be gracious and work with the other person’s schedule.

Delaying The Sale Increases The Desire To Work With You

If you really want to know how to get coaching clients, think about the dating world.  People seem much more attractive if they have other things going in their lives.  If you meet someone attractive who has no plans at all over the weekend, red flags start flying.  A coach with too much time on his hands doesn’t look like success.  Once you have found out how to get coaching clients, you will be busy and automatically will look less like a shark looking for its next meal.  Then you can concentrate on making a difference for your clients and the how to get clients into coaching will no longer be an issue.

How to Get Coaching Clients: Stop Chasing Clients

The Best Way oN How to Get Coaching Clients | Image by UBALT.eduLet me show you how to get coaching clients to beg you to coach them. If you’re tired of chasing coaching clients, this article will show you how to avoid the biggest mistake coaches make when trying to get a client to hire them.

You Can Get Clients to Chase You

One of the biggest mistakes I see coaches make is chasing a client in hopes that this will get them to eventually breakdown and hire them. When you chase a client, you look like a desperate coach. No one wants to hire a desperate coach. Clients want to hire a coach that they are attracted to.

How to Get Coaching Clients to want You

The best way to get coaching clients to chase you is to become attractive to them. If you can find out what your potential clients are already attracted to, becoming attractive is easy. Here are some questions to help you find out what your potential clients are attracted to:

1. Who is my ideal client?
2. What common problems do they have that I know how to solve
3. What are their hobbies?
4. What are their beliefs?
5. Where do the spend most of their time?
6. What are they passionate about?
7. Where do they look for solutions to their problems?

What’s Next?

Once you can answer the above questions, you will have insight into how to get coaching clients attracted to. You will also know what they might need coaching on. The next step will be for you to ask these questions of yourself. People want to work with people that are like them. If your answers to these questions do not match your ideal client’s answers, you will have a hard time attracting these types of clients.

How Do I Get a Coaching Client attracted to me?

The key to getting coaching clients to start chasing you is to become just like them. Make a list of all the places that your ideal coaching clients hang out and start going to these places. Remember that people want to do business with people like them. Leave a comment on how to get coaching clients that you love working with. Become like them, do the things they do, go where they go and start attracting these clients.

Remember to enjoy the process and make sure that this is really who you want to be like. If you’re faking it just to get these people as your clients, they will read right through you. Do your homework, have fun and leave a comment below on ways you can be more attractive to your ideal clients.

How To Get Coaching Clients Tomorrow: 3 Sure-Fire Strategies

How To Get Coaching Clients By Getting On The Court | Image by SearchCommitteesMany coaches struggle with learning how to get coaching clients. But you don’t have to. You can get coaching clients tomorrow, if you like. Or at least by the end of the week. Even if you think you don’t know very many people.

How To Get Coaching Clients By Getting On The Court

1. First, make a list of everyone you know. Babysitters, hairdressers, friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances. Then, divide the list into 3 parts.
a. People who would never pay you for coaching, because they know you too well, already have access to you, etc. Close friends and family. These are people who might know someone who could use your services. Ask them, “Who do you know who might benefit from a complimentary 60 minute goal setting / strategy session?”
b. People who might pay you for coaching. Call them and offer them a complimentary coaching session. Even if they don’t enroll, ask for referrals and contact them.
c. People who don’t necessarily need coaching from you, but have access to your target market. You can wait on contact this list until a bit later when you are more confident about your ability to create joint venture partnerships.
2. Run complimentary sessions on everyone you can. Create a catchy program that will create interest. Something like a “Money Mastery Makeover Session” or “How to Be Fit and Fabulous For The Holidays.” The result your prospects will receive should be as close as their greatest desire or to combat their greatest fear.
3. Give a 1-hour talk about a topic of interest for a group. If you’re just starting out, most of time you won’t get paid in cash. What you will get is the opportunity to position yourself as an expert in front of a group and make an offer to purchase your products or services, or at least get some contact information to run complimentary sessions.

Why Would I Do All This Work For Free?

The one thing to understand about how to get coaching clients is that you will pay for leads one way or the other. In order to get coaching clients you’ll need to pay cash for advertising, time by running free sessions, or by somehow creating value for others. There is no free lunch, as they say. The secret to how to get coaching clients is by creating so much value for people, they see working with you as they most viable solution to getting the results they want.

Success Or Failure In Your Coaching Business Depends On Marketing

.
Marketing is giving information about what you do and how you do it.  But even more importantly, it’s about what your clients will get from what you offer–what wants and needs will you address and fulfill.  Your marketing has to convey what they will have at the end and how that will serve them.  But on your end, marketing is also a numbers game of how to get coaching clients.  How many different avenues do you have for your marketing?  Do you have a blog or a website?  Do you use Google ads?  Do you speak to organizations, schools, or clubs?  Do you belong to networking groups where you might meet not just individual clients, but also people who are centers of influence?  Do you participate in other people’s teleseminars?  Do you post flyers at your church?  The more avenues you have to put your marketing materials in front of your potential clients, the more clients you are likely to have.  But there is a but…

Life Coaching Business Essentials: How to Get Coaching Clients and Where to Find Them

If you’re like most coaches, you’re probably wondering how to get coaching clients.  It’s the life coaching business dilemma.  You want to make a difference, but you just haven’t found enough clients yet.  How do you start your life coaching business and get those first few clients?  Here is one simple method how to get coaching clients without fancy technology or expensive marketing.

Develop a List of People You Know and Start With Those You Know Best as You Are Thinking About How to Get Coaching Clients

.

The best way to approach your life coaching business is to take inventory of all the people you know.  Include family, friends, people who are so close to you that they would never pay you to coach them.  This is the first group.  I’m not suggesting that how to get coaching clients is to get these people to enroll, but they are a great place to start.  Start by offering free sessions for them and make a difference in their lives.  You aren’t like to get new life coaching business, but if you do a good job you are highly likely to referrals for more free sessions.  By the second or third generation, these people are removed from you enough that you may actually get paying clients.

Increase Your Life Coaching Business by Looking at Those You Don’t Know as Well

.

Another way how to get coaching clients is to look at all the people who you don’t know very well.  You’re more likely to have some ‘magic’ with them, since they don’t know too much about you.  Again, offer them a free session.  For every session, expect at least two referrals if you’ve done a great job.  Not everyone will enroll, but you will start seeing some life coaching business as your skills improve.

Lastly, When Considering How to Get Coaching Clients Look for People on Your List Who Know Others That Would Benefit From Your Coaching

.

The third way how to get coaching clients is to look at those on your list who may not need your coaching services, but will know your ideal client.  Just like the principal of an elementary school doesn’t teach, but knows a lot of teachers and is an authority in their eyes.  Who do you know who could bring you life coaching business?

They key with this life coaching business tool, as with all the others, is to lead with the giving hand.  You want to offer these people something that is so valuable to them that you almost hesitate giving it away for free.  I’m not saying that how to get coaching clients is to coach them for free forever, but when you meet with them show up in the best possible way you can.  Did Cinderella go to the ball wearing rags?  Of course not!  Arrive at your full potential.  Give to the best of your ability.  And if you’re still not getting results, get some new tools so you can give away even better results.
