How do you find coaching jobs? Why does there seem that the words “coaching” and “sales” don’t go together? Unless you plan on becoming a volunteer coach, you will need to find some coaching sales training. Unless you already have a full schedule of paying clients.

For example: a 1-minute stress reliever that you can do anywhere. You want to offer this valuable piece to as many people as possible; give it away. Don’t even start thinking about finding coaching jobs at this point. By doing this you start a dialogue with people who don’t know you, and start establishing rapport.

Coaching Sales Training for Coaching Jobs, Step TWO:  Give More Away to Build Relationships

 

The next step in this coaching sales training is to build relationships with your potential clients. Give more away. Make a list of the top 10 problems they have. Start with their fears and frustrations, and give them your best tips. By now they have probably opted in to your squeeze page (a page that guards your goodies by asking for an email before they get more content), and you can email these potential new clients regarding blogs and articles you have recently posted. Let’s face it, sometimes one of the biggest challenges we face as coaches is finding coaching jobs, or clients. 

How do you become a job coach who can fill your calendar with coaching jobs, even if you’re just starting out? 


Provide massive value. 

Become a job coach who can provide so much value within a single session, your potential clients can’t imagine living their lives without you.

If you havbecome a job coach, who is your ideal client? Where will you find coaching jobs? Think of all the people out there who have recently found themselves unemployed or have been given notice that they will soon be unemployed. One of the greatest challenges many people have is updating their resume, and you can provide value by offering them a solution in the form of a “free session” or even a front of the room presentation where you offer attendees a “complementary coaching session” at the end. Once you wow them with your coaching, you will find yourself with some new coaching jobs. What will you talk about? You can start with:

5 steps to updating your resume to find the job of your dreams: Fast and painless ways to make your resume shine.

1. Add your clients’ most recent achievements.

 

If your clients want to let their accomplishments speak for themselves, they will need to make sure they are visible. Have them start with their most recent wins, and work their way backward. Showing off recent successes will infer that they will be ready to hit the ground running when they begin their next job.

2. Highlight how contributions affected their employers bottom line.

 

If your clients were successful at bringing in business or improving efficiency which resulted in a greater profit, make sure they mention it. They shouldn’t exaggerate, but this is one way to help a resume move to the top of the pile.

3. Make sure your clients’ language speaks to the broader market.

If prospective employers don’t understand a resume, they aren’t going to waste time trying to decode it.

4. Use Search Engine Keywords

 

Your clients’ choice of words is crucial because many managers use search engines to narrow down lists of applicants. Have your clients make sure the keywords they use are specific to the industry they are applying to, even if it means creating more than one resume so they can use keywords that provide the best advantage. 5. Don’t rely on spell check.

How to Become a Life Coach Who is World Class


If you really want to know how to become a life coach who is world class, then the answer is simple. Not necessarily easy, but simple. There are 3 things you must do if you want to become a coach who is in the top 5%. These coaches are at the top because they have done what most people won’t do, so they can be and have things most people can’t. This group isn’t ever worried about finding coaching jobs because they’ve handled that part of their life.

How to Become a Life Coach Who Finds Coaching Jobs No Matter What:


  1. To learn how to become a life coach who is outstanding, you need to find outstanding role models. Find the best of the best, and study them. Read what they read, buy every book and audio they have made, and study them. My dad used to say in school he studied the teachers more than he studied the subjects. By doing this he would figure out what they thought was most important. The best coaches will show you how to be a master coach and get coaching jobs.

  2. The next step if you want to know how to become a life coach who is the best of the best, is total immersion. We know total immersion is the best way to study a language, but how many people will really immerse themselves into an environment to learn once they have experienced some level of comfort and security. 

    It works for medical students.

    It works for interns.

    It works for coaches. 

    Now it is possible with the technology of audios, videos, and teleconferences to immerse yourself from the comfort of your own home. But there is also a ton of value in the kind of total immersion where you really get out of your comfort zone and usual stomping grounds.

  3. The last ingredient to this recipe for how to become a life coach who is known for greatness, is spaced repetition. Tony Robbins used this technique in his early days. For example he would coach people to quit smoking within a single session. Then he would repeat it over and over again, mastering it before he went on to other types of coaching jobs. My mentor reviews videos of masters such as Tony every six months. Not because he is leaning new information, but because it puts him into state and he actually sees himself as Tony. We do the same for movies we’ve seen over and over again, repeating key lines. Why not do it where it really makes a difference…in coaching jobs?

Become a Wellness coach: the Next Frontier for Coaching Jobs?

Is there a need for people who want to become a wellness coach? Are there potential coaching jobs out there? The wellness industry is a $500 billion industry and growing. And it’s just getting started. People are sick of being sick, and are looking for alternatives. Most people are not aware of all the choices they have available to them, and how simple lifestyle choices can have a profound effect on the quality of their lives. And if you decide to become a wellness coach you can help people with the ongoing process of making healthier choices in their lives.

Do you wonder if you become a wellness coach, will you be able to find clients?

There are a lot of statistics out there that show there is a need for people who want to become a wellness coach, and lots of opportunities for coaching jobs.

  • Medical research studies show that only 1 patient out of 9 is able to change habits by his or herself after coronary bypass surgery. You would think that major surgery would be enough of a wake up call to cause transformation. If you have the right qualifications, this niche could provide you with more coaching jobs than you could ever handle by yourself.
  • According the a US Public Health survey, 70-80% of doctor visits are related to issues made worse by stress.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that 70% of health care costs arise from diseases that are preventable; such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity (How could you use this statistic to convince prospective coaching clients to work on a prevention coaching program?) 

Who will pay for coaching services if you become a wellness coach?


  • According to industrial medicine statistics, stress has a negative effect on productivity in 9 out of 10 companies. If you can find a solution for one of those companies, word will get out and companies will seek your services. Then you might find yourself with the problem of having too many coaching jobs.
  • Other studies say that for every dollar invested in work site wellness programs there is a 300-600% return. Talk about opportunities for coaching jobs!
  • California and other states proposed legislation in 2008 that would help reduce health care costs by promoting prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility. Many even provided incentives to individuals who meet certain health goals. Who knows, maybe some very nice government coaching jobs will come out of some of new legislation. Or perhaps, you want to start your own company and secure some of those contracts yourself.

Before you hang your sign and take on wellness coaching jobs, make sure you have proper training and get legal counseling so you don’t inadvertently cross over any boundaries. You want to make sure you are behaving ethically, and providing the best wellness coaching for your clients.

How to Become a Relationship Coach During a Recession By Finding Coaching Jobs With Couples Who Have Been affected by a Layoff

How do You Become a Relationship Coach in This Economy? 

 

Money is tight, and November job losses hit a 30 year low. Since money (or lack of) is the number one stressor in marriage, someone who has become a relationship coach can really be of value to a couple who experienced a job loss. During severe economic stress, couples may struggle not only with how to keep their finances afloat, but also with how to work as a team and combat negativity from affecting their marriage. Where there is hardship, there is also opportunity. And if you are a highly skilled coach you can get results, you will have plenty of coaching jobs.

Where Will You Find Coaching Jobs


Top tips to become a relationship coach who can turn things around, one couple at a time, and get all the coaching jobs you can handle:

  • Tame the Tension:  Right now, most layoffs are happening because of the economy and not because of poor performance by an individual employee. Have your clients make a pact to keep their relationship a safe and blame-free zone during this tough time. Using assessments can help couples understand how the layoff effects the other person thought their personality filters. Without assessments, it may be one of the toughest coaching jobs you take on.

  • Consider Medical Insurance Options:  A layoff usually means loss of employer sponsored medical insurance. While your clients may be eligible for insurance through a COBRA plan, it is usually very expensive. Have your clients research costs involved with switching insurance to other’s health plan. Become a relationship coach who can provide accountability, because your clients will need to take action quickly.

  • Encourage Teamwork:  Encourage the couple to work on the problem together. Perhaps they could spend time together working on a resume. Discussing strengths and accomplishments will not only produce a strong resume, but it will also help the jobless partner feel that the other sees his or her strengths. Have the couple leverage both of their networks to find out what jobs are out there. The coaching jobs you take on may include helping both sides get some certainty in a trying time.

  • Consider all options:  Encourage the couple to look at all their options…including temporary employment, getting additional training, or looking at new career options. Become a relationship coach who knows how to use assessments to help in determining if a career is in line with your clients’ values and strengths, or if changing careers might be the best long term strategy. Freelance work might be an opportunity to bring in some extra money and may even open doors to permanent opportunities.  

  • Cut costs:  Become a relationship coach who can help clients reduce expenses where possible, and work to live on one salary. Once both people are back to work, they will be in a great position to save money and improve their financial future.

Finding coaching jobs in a tough economy is not only possible, but may be much more rewarding because of the potential to make a larger impact.

Do You Have What it Takes to Become a Life Coach With Your Own Practice? Or Should You Start Looking for Coaching Jobs Working for Others?

It sounds great to become a life coach and work from home, the beach, and make your own schedule.  And coaching jobs?  Working for only a small part of what your client pays?  Who needs that?  But before you quit your job, consider the following:
 
Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? 

You can’t just decide to become a life coach and start making lots of money right away.  

 

You might need to start by working harder than you ever have for anyone else, for little or no pay. You will have to make mistakes, fail, and learn some more.  If you aren’t willing to go through that, then start looking for coaching jobs.
 
If you want work for yourself and not have a boss looking over your shoulder?  Look through the help-wanted section for government paid coaching jobs.

If you decide to become a life coach you will have many bosses who demand results.  

 

You will refer to them as clients.
 
If you want to be able to do whatever you want to do, when you want to do it…you are better off in a job.  Coaching jobs or otherwise. If you want to become a life coach, you will have to devote your life to learning so that you may serve others.  It can not be about you, or the money.  That doesn’t mean that you won’t get anything for you, or that you won’t be looked up to.  You probably will.  That also doesn’t mean that you won’t make a lot of money.  You probably will.  But all that good stuff has to be about the service to others, and a desire to make the world a better place. 
 
If you are looking for job security…there is none.  Not in this environment, and especially for coaching jobs.  If you decide to become a life coach and go the entrepreneurial route, you will have more control over your destiny.  But you will also need to be able to take some risks.  You will learn that the process is often more important than the goal.  And you will have the potential to become a life coach who makes a dramatic impact on the world.

Coaching Certification

With a Coaching Certification, Youll Have a Large Certificate for Your Wall

Coaching certification in my mind is an essential part of coaching mastery. While some would argue that coaching training is enough, consider that coaching is now a booming industry which means competition is increasing for a market that is still relatively small. By that I mean that there are still many individuals and companies who either don’t know about coaching, do not understand the value versus consulting, or have used unqualified poorly trained coaches with resulting experiences that have been less than satisfactory. In addition to the influx of coaches there are also many niches being developed which segments available markets into smaller units. What this can create for people interested in hiring a coach is confusion. “Who to choose?” and “Based on what?” are two key questions that are foremost in your potential client’s mind.

The benefits of coaching certification are several but first and foremost having your coaching certification establishes you. It says that you have undergone the necessary coaching training, accumulated the necessary skill sets and undergone the testing that qualifies you as a coach. Other benefits of coaching certification are:

  • It enhances your credibility and reassures potential clients that you are professional
  • Demonstrates that you have high professional standards
  • Shows that you have a code of ethics
  • Demonstrates that you have high knowledge and skill sets
  • Demonstrates that you take the profession seriously
  • Reinforces the integrity of the coaching profession

Coaching certification is something that you should be working toward if you are seriously considering a career in any coaching field be it Life Coaching, Career Coaching, Business Coaching, Marketing, Health, or any of the niches available or that you define. Look for organizations or schools that offer authorized coaching certification programs in addition to coaching training. Of the most recognized The International Coaching Federation, CTI (Coaches Training Institute), and CCI are at the top. There are a plethora of others but the best are recognized by these organizations, notably ICF.

Coaching certification is worth the time and money, especially if you are after working with fortune 500 executives (those circles value certification). It separates you from the rest who don’t go the distance. One other note; certification is, in my mind, necessary but so is the mastery of the business of coaching. Make sure that you also seek coaching trainings and coaching jobs that will train you in building your business model as well as the sales and marketing of your coaching business. Too many leave this aspect out and it’s an over-sight that will cost you in time and money.

How to Become a Relationship Coach (An Insiders Perspective)

Ever ask yourself how to become a relationship coach?  There is a great need out there, and it’s easier than you might think.  IF you use information from the DISC or Values Assessments.

My husband and I recently went through a relationship assessment debrief.  What was most amazing was that he actually felt that the information was amazingly insightful.  Why was I so surprised? 

Well, it’s because we actually don’t always see eye to eye.  It’s not just because he’s over half a foot taller than I am.  And the assessments told us just why.  You see, he is a very high “S” and very high “C”.  In case you aren’t familiar with the DISC, it means that he is very steady.  He takes awhile to change course and only then if all the data supports that decision.  He is also a little pessimistic.  He didn’t really buy into that part, until he asked an expert.  Our six year old daughter.  She not only told him he was, but was able to give him a very good example.

Ok, before you think that I think I’m perfect…I’ll tell you about myself.  I’m a fairly high “D” and “I”.  I like to get things done (my way),  I’m very social (it takes at least 20 minutes to say goodbye at a party),  and according to the view of a high “S” and “C”…I can be a little Pollyanna.  Too optimistic?  Bah humbug!

No one ever told me how to become a relationship coach, but without those assessments it would have taken an expert at least a month’s worth of sessions to get that much insight.  And the beauty of these tools is that it is objective, clear, and insightful…and you can get the results after a 20 minute quiz.  That’s modern technology! 

But what we really gained out of the assessments and debrief was confirmation of what we already knew.  We may deal with the world in very different ways, but that also can provide quite a bit of balance.  And amazingly we have almost identical values.   The whole process was really valuable, and probably would have been really helpful if we had received it as a wedding gift instead of those champagne glasses we hardly ever use.

So if anyone ever asks you how to become a relationship coach…Now you know.

5 Fool-Proof Coaching Techniques for a Recession

What type of coaching techniques can we offer during this recession? Recession? Yes, and it’s overdue. People have been spending too much and saving too little, for too long. As a nation we are up to our chins in debt. We are going to have to learn how to prioritize spending. And this is a great opportunity for coaches to provide value and step up as leaders.

Fear and Anxiety are powerful, yet very different emotions. Fear is good for you. Fear saves lives. Fear gets you to run away from a charging bull down a narrow street in Pamplona. Anxiety keeps people awake at night, causes health problems, and keeps organizations from taking action until it is too late.

Who is better at helping people move past anxiety during a recession?

A doctor who can give you medication, so you won’t feel it…

Psychologists who will help you discover why you have anxiety…

Or a coach, who will help you move through the fear so you don’t get mauled by a bear market!

Market share. Look I’m not the only one who thinks 2009 may be a tough year economically. People are going to spend less money, and shop for deals. But wherever some people are loosing money others are making money. More people became millionaires during the Great Depression than in any other era in U.S. history. What coaching techniques do you already have that can not only help people capture existing market share, but create new markets?

Attitude. We can help people see that they can position themselves to be a powerless victim or a winner. Assessment tools can be very valuable in helping people find out where they are. So much opportunity can be lost with a poor attitude. Can coaches help? Of course! We are the experts. Powerful coaching techniques can include getting to the point where we truly understand the client, and then BEcome the client…then by using outside perspective we can help cause transformation or shifts in attitude.

Goal setting. Helping out clients set goals that are in-line with their values will help them stay motivated and on course. Simple, but not always done.

Efficiency. Often people are busy running around a tree, and at the end of the day be no further toward their goal. Just tired, worn out and frustrated. Now is the time to help people trim off the unproductive “fat” and take a “leaner” approach to getting into action. Helping clients develop a strategy and plan, then provide accountability coaching and help them take action on the most powerful steps toward their goal.
